Celebrating 30 years of founding Son La Specialized High School

30th Anniversary Ceremony of Son La Specialized High School.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee: Dinh Thi Bich Thao, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Luong Thi Van Anh, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission; Duong Tu Anh, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Commission. Former provincial leaders; leaders of departments, branches and sectors; former cadres, teachers, former students of all generations; representatives of the school's parent committee and all cadres, teachers and students of Son La Specialized High School.

On May 17, 1995, the People's Committee of Son La province issued Decision No. 431/QD-TC on the establishment of the Gifted High School under the Department of Education and Training of Son La. This is a new school, specializing in training gifted students in cultural subjects of the province. In 2002, the Gifted High School was renamed Son La Provincial High School for the Gifted.

From 12 cadres, teachers, staff and 7 classes, 145 students in the first school year (1995 - 1996), up to now, the school has 33 classes, 1,151 students, 103 cadres, teachers, staff. In the 2004-2005 school year, the school was the first high school education institution in the province to be recognized as meeting National standards level 1; continued to be recognized as meeting National standards level 2 in 2016 and 2021.

Over the past 30 years, the School has continuously innovated and developed, invested in modern facilities and equipment, improved the quality of teaching and learning in the direction of key training, built a list of outstanding achievements, and is the leading high school education institution in the province. Over the past 30 years, there have been 8,156 graduates; 346 students won the National Excellent Student Award; 8 students participated in the Road to Olympia Program; 5 students were selected to join the International Olympic Team and some students won high prizes; thousands of students won prizes at exams at all levels. There are 3 excellent teachers; 6 cadres, teachers and staff were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister; 81 excellent teachers at the provincial level and hundreds of cadres and teachers received certificates of merit from all levels. The school was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President; 3 times the Government awarded the Flag "Outstanding Unit Leading the Emulation Movement"; received many emulation flags, certificates and merits from all levels.

Speaking at the Ceremony, Comrade Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, acknowledged, commended and congratulated the school for its outstanding achievements. He requested the school to continue to improve the quality of comprehensive education, aiming to build a high-quality educational center of regional stature. Strongly innovate management work, improve the quality of staff and teachers; focus on Party development work among excellent teachers and students. Implement solutions to develop key education; actively exchange, transfer experiences, support other high schools in the province to accompany and develop together. Students continue to promote the spirit of studiousness, constantly practice, nurture ambitions, bring knowledge to build their homeland and country...

On this occasion, the Prime Minister awarded the "Excellent Unit in the 2023-2024 Emulation Movement" Flag to Son La Specialized High School; the Ministry of Education and Training awarded a certificate of merit to the school. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 5 individuals; the Director of the Department of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to 8 individuals with outstanding achievements in contributing to the construction and development of the school.
