People whose land was confiscated nearly 25 years ago for a project in Nha Trang were invited to a dialogue for support.

A series of households in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province whose land had been confiscated and forcibly reclaimed for nearly 25 years for Hoan Cau company to carry out the Song Lo Tourism and Entertainment project have just been invited to "dialogue" to get support from the project owner.

Responding to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Van Minh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province - said that today, October 23, the ward invited "dialogue" with people affected by the Song Lo Tourism and Entertainment Area project (in Phuoc Dong Commune, Nha Trang City before).

The dialogue content is about the plan to support people when the state reclaims land to implement the Song Lo Tourism and Entertainment Area project.

Many years ago, the government allocated land to Hoan Cau Construction and Trading Company Limited (HCMC) to carry out the above project, but now it has been divided, changed the land use purpose, and "transformed" into many other projects. Among them, there is the illegal conversion into "residential land without forming residential units" and Khanh Hoa province is having to handle and remedy this.

According to the announcement of the Government Office (September 17, 2025), the Song Lo Tourism and Entertainment Area project "is one of the large, complicated projects, facing many difficulties, problems and complaints that have lasted for many periods (nearly 30 years)" in Khanh Hoa province.

Recently, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh concluded "to assign the Government Inspectorate to urgently conduct an inspection of the project, soon have a conclusion to resolve and release development resources of the project" mentioned at Lo River, now in Nam Nha Trang ward.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward organized an invitation to "dialogue" with people affected by the Song Lo Tourism and Entertainment Area project, following the direction of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province.

201 households and 3 organizations had their land recovered for Hoan Cau Construction and Trading Company Limited to carry out the Song Lo Tourism and Entertainment Area project.

According to Mr. Minh, more than 20 years ago, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee decided to support 58 households whose land was recovered for Hoan Cau Construction and Trading Company Limited to carry out the above project.

That support is outside the compensation for land acquisition according to the plan approved by the province in accordance with the law and paid by the investor of the Song Lo Tourism and Entertainment Area project for the 58 cases mentioned above (the support levels are 5 million, 10 million and 15 million VND/case, depending on the different areas of land acquisition).

The project investor has paid support money to 35 households on the list of 58 cases whose land was recovered and supported according to the above decision.

There are 23 remaining households that have not received or have not accepted support money from the owner of the Song Lo Tourism and Entertainment Area project.

Therefore, following the direction of Khanh Hoa province, the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang ward organized a dialogue to listen to the opinions and requests of 23 households affected by the Song Lo Tourism and Entertainment Area project and the ward will work with the project investor to agree on continuing to support the remaining households to report to the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province for consideration.

"Dialogue" is not intended to "cope" with the continued inspection of Hoan Cau's project in Nha Trang.

According to the Government Inspectorate, from September 2001 to August 2010, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province issued 13 decisions approving compensation plans and land recovery for a total of more than 180 hectares of land from people and organizations for Hoan Cau Construction and Trading Company Limited to implement the Song Lo Tourism and Entertainment Area project.

Up to now, there are still about 40 households out of 201 cases of people and 3 organizations whose land was confiscated and forcibly recovered by Khanh Hoa province and Nha Trang city People's Committee (formerly) for Hoan Cau Construction and Trading Company Limited to carry out the above business project, continuing to denounce and file lawsuits continuously for nearly 25 years.

According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa province's direction to hold a dialogue on support plans for people whose land has been recovered is in accordance with the recommendation of the Government Inspectorate (previously) to the province to continue considering support for people in the above mentioned project.

So that is not to "cope" with the continued "urgent inspection of the project" of the Song Lo Tourism and Entertainment Area. Because according to Mr. Minh, the Government Inspectorate is still inspecting the project according to the direction of the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.
