According to residents living near the project (Le Duc Tho Street, Son Tra Ward, Da Nang City), in the early afternoon of the same day, they heard a loud noise and saw the crane tower break and fall onto the construction site.
Many people expressed concern because the construction site, located right on a major road, had a tower crane collapse, posing a danger to traffic below.
According to observations at the scene, the tower crane was broken in the middle of its horizontal shaft, with the shaft end falling onto the construction site, and the cables were severed, with many materials scattered below.
Later that afternoon, police and local authorities from Son Tra ward arrived at the scene to investigate and determine the cause and extent of the damage.
Mr. Dinh Vui, Chairman of the Son Tra Ward People's Committee, stated that the management and licensing of the project fall under the authority of the city, and the local government only carries out security measures in the area as prescribed. Regarding casualties and property damage, the Chairman of the Son Tra Ward People's Committee could not provide details at this time as the authorities are still verifying and clarifying the situation, and will inform the press later.
The Hiyori Aqua Tower apartment project commenced in September 2024 and is expected to be handed over in the third quarter of 2026. The project comprises 25 above-ground floors and 2 basement floors, with a total of 202 apartments. According to the information board displayed at the construction site, the project's investor is Aqua Tower Co., Ltd., and the general contractor is DINCO Construction Engineering Joint Stock Company.
