After testing, doctors here said there was Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The patient was treated according to the antibiotic regimen combined with surgery to incise the diffuse inflammation, drain the pus, and change the bandage daily.
Seven days after surgery, the patient's pain was relieved, the surgical wound was dry, and there was no more discharge. By October 15, the patient was stable and was discharged home.
Specialist Doctor I Le Thi Ha, Head of the Department of Dentistry, Bac Giang General Hospital, said that Staphylococcus aureus bacteria can live parasitically on the skin and mucous membranes and then enter the body through pores, subcutaneous glands and hair follicles. They then cause pus-filled infections with initial symptoms being the appearance of boils, impetigo and abscesses on the skin.
According to doctors, skin diseases caused by staphylococcus are often caused by external environmental factors, and rarely cause disease if they only reside on the skin. However, when there are open wounds, acne, poor hygiene, and weak resistance, staphylococcus aureus will have the opportunity to cause dangerous diseases.
From the above case, doctors recommend that patients with boils, if they have high fever, fatigue, accompanied by severe systemic symptoms, should quickly go to a medical facility. In addition, absolutely do not arbitrarily prick or squeeze pimples, boils or use plasters or leaves to apply because it can easily cause widespread inflammation and ulcers, causing blood infection.
