Pioneering in "Keeping villages and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe and smart"

Secretary of the Dan Phuong District Party Committee Tran Duc Hai said that from individual movements on environmental protection in villages and residential groups, the district has upgraded them to a contest on "Keeping villages and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe and smart" and has now become a vibrant emulation movement on building environmental landscapes and improving the quality of life in residential areas in Dan Phuong.

Mr. Hai said: On December 17, the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi organized a launching ceremony for the emulation movement "Bright - green - clean - beautiful" in the capital. However, Dan Phuong pioneered this major competition 5 years ago, and up to now, the district has achieved many positive results and has become a "specialty" of the capital in the movement "green, clean, beautiful, safe villages, hamlets, and residential groups" in Hanoi.

"Looking back at the 5 years of implementing the contest, we see that we have achieved many very proud results. From the right policies of the Party Committee, the government and the participation of the entire political system, the exemplary role of cadres, party members and the consensus of the people have helped the movement "Keeping villages and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe and smart" spread strongly.

Up to now, 129 villages, residential clusters, and residential groups in the area all have good, typical models, with very unique environmental highlights, contributing to making the new rural picture in the whole district more complete, comprehensive, and outstanding," affirmed the Secretary of the Dan Phuong District Party Committee.

According to the Steering Committee of the contest "Keeping villages and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe and smart" in Dan Phuong district, up to now, 16/16 communes and towns have lighting systems in alleys, hamlets, cultural houses, flower gardens, and public places in villages and towns. Many villages have renovated and upgraded their lighting systems to ensure safety and aesthetics. In particular, villages and residential groups using solar energy lighting systems have brought about practical results.

In 2024, the villages will plant and decorate 500 more flower pots and ornamental plants; and build a model dike line of more than 5,000m long. Typical dike lines in Dai Phung and Doai Khe villages, Dan Phuong commune; Thap Thuong and Thu Que villages, Song Phuong commune; Doai and Quy villages, Lien Ha commune, villages 6 and 7, Trung Chau commune, etc.

The highlight of the contest is the emergence of many good and creative ways in environmental protection work that have been deployed and replicated in many typical villages and hamlets. Cluster 10, Tho Xuan commune built 03 cabinets to collect recycled waste; An Son 2 village built a "battery house" model, Dich Dinh built 2 model cabinets "Green house, battery house" to collect waste to establish a humanitarian and charity fund, recycle into hundreds of flower pots, ornamental plants...

Villages and residential clusters painted an additional 550m of murals, planted more than 450 flower pots and ornamental plants; 160 stone benches at environmental ponds; installed 550 flag stands, recycled 100 plastic products to make decorative flower pots; maintained and cared for the model dike system of Doai Khe and Dai Phung villages, Dan Phuong commune, clusters 7,9,11 of Trung Chau commune, Thu Que village, Song Phuong commune...

Quality of life is significantly improved

As a leading locality in the movement "Keeping villages and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe and smart", Mr. Ngo The Anh - Chairman of Song Phuong Commune People's Committee said: From 2022, Song Phuong is the first commune in the district to successfully build the model of "Smart villages, smart self-governing groups" of 4/4 villages in the commune.

Also in 2022, the commune organized the construction of the "Model Dike" project with a total length of 1.8kg and planted many eye-catching roses, peonies... By 2023, the commune had successfully built the "Mural Village" and "Children's Playground" models in Thong Nhat village, painting more than 800m2 of murals with rich content. The highlight is the relief at the beginning of the village recording the historical events of the village and commune through the periods... Up to now, 4/4 villages have built check-in points...

From the projects and models implemented in the area, Song Phuong commune was awarded 3 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 1 special prize by the District People's Committee in the contest "Keeping villages and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe, smart". "The contest has come into life, bringing many benefits, creating a bright - green - clean - beautiful - safe, smart environment, improving the quality of life for the people", Mr. Ngo The Anh affirmed.

Having just been awarded a high prize at the contest "Keeping villages and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe and smart", Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Head of Residential Group 1 Thuong Mo, was very excited. "In 5 years of participating in the contest, we have won 3 prizes, including a first prize in the district at the end of 2021, which made us and the people in the residential group very happy and proud", Ms. Thanh shared.

According to Ms. Thanh, thanks to the exemplary role of cadres, party members and the consensus of the people, up to now, the residential group of cluster 1 Thuong Mo has built many new models such as "Green house, battery house", installed over 20 security cameras, painted many murals...

"From the competition criteria, we have specified and included them in the conventions and village regulations of the groups and clusters to help people implement them very effectively. Thereby helping to significantly improve the quality of the environment and the lives of local people," Ms. Thanh added.

At the conference to summarize the contest "Keeping villages and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe, and smart" in 2024 and launch the emulation movement to promote the contest "Keeping villages and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe, and smart" in 2025 taking place on the morning of December 20, Secretary of the District Party Committee Tran Duc Hai suggested that the Steering Committee of the contest should continue to replicate good models and creative examples to create a stronger spread throughout the district.
