( Bqp.vn ) – “Our Party and State always pay special attention, care and have many preferential policies for wounded soldiers, martyrs’ relatives, families with meritorious services, and people with revolutionary contributions, considering this an important and regular political task”, affirmed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at a meeting and intimate conversation with wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and martyrs’ relatives at the 27/7 National Historical Site (Ban Co hamlet, Hung Son town, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province) on the afternoon of July 27.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met and had a friendly talk with wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and relatives of martyrs in Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province.

Meeting and talking intimately with war invalids, sick soldiers and relatives of martyrs in Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that today's meeting took place in the boundless sorrow of comrades and compatriots nationwide at the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, an exceptionally outstanding leader of our Party and State, who always paid special attention to taking care of war invalids, martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions; at the same time, affirming that "When drinking water, remember the source", "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree" are good and precious traditions, nurtured and cultivated by many generations of Vietnamese people throughout thousands of years of the nation's history.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh offered flowers, incense and rang the bell to commemorate the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs at the National Historical Relic Site on July 27.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that our country had to go through fierce and fierce wars to gain national independence, unify the country and protect the country's borders. During those difficult years, with the spirit of "Determination to die for the Fatherland", "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom", generations of young people volunteered to go to the battlefield. Sharing the fighting spirit of the whole country, the people of all ethnic groups in Thai Nguyen province in general and Dai Tu district in particular have always united to fight against foreign invaders, fought bravely and sacrificed, together with the army and people of the whole country to write the glorious history of the nation. Many people have never returned, their flesh and blood have merged with the mountains and rivers. Some people were lucky enough to return home but left part of their bodies on the battlefield or were affected by Agent Orange. There are many children born in peace but suffer many disadvantages, carrying the heavy consequences of war that nothing can compensate for.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was particularly moved to learn that many veterans, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and relatives of martyrs have made efforts to overcome pain and loss, overcome illness, rise up in life, set an example in work, labor, and study; are active, creative, and continue to contribute to the homeland and the country. You are not only heroes in combat, but also pioneers in studying, working, and producing, making an important contribution to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; you are truly shining examples for the younger generations to be proud of, learn from, and follow.

According to the Prime Minister, although the Party, State and People have always cared for and looked after them with respect, deep gratitude and the highest responsibility, the lives of a number of war invalids, martyrs' relatives and families of people with revolutionary contributions are still difficult. Therefore, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested all levels, sectors and localities, including Thai Nguyen province, to continue promoting the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree", thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Directive of the Secretariat on continuing to strengthen the Party's leadership over the work of people with revolutionary contributions, and the Ordinance on preferential treatment for people with revolutionary contributions. In particular, continue to perfect and well implement policies and laws for people with revolutionary contributions, ensuring that people with revolutionary contributions and their families have a living standard of average or higher in the locality with the spirit that no person with revolutionary contributions is not entitled to preferential policies; Continue to research and implement appropriate increases in social subsidies and preferential subsidies; increase the attraction of social resources, promote the movement of "Repaying gratitude"; contribute to compensating for the disadvantages of people with meritorious services and families with meritorious services to the revolution.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and encouraged policy beneficiaries in the area.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that with deep responsibility and affection, the Government and the Prime Minister will continue to care for and look after the material and spiritual life of people with meritorious services to become more and more complete and better. Emphasizing that as a locality associated with the birth of War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested Thai Nguyen province in general and Dai Tu district in particular to continue to make efforts to overcome difficulties, overcome challenges, do better in caring for and implementing preferential policies for people with meritorious services, and further improve the lives of people with meritorious services in the area. On this occasion, the Prime Minister requested localities, agencies and units to call on each organization and individual with a high sense of responsibility to be proactive and creative in implementing more specific and practical activities, considering this as a duty, responsibility and also a sentiment to express deep gratitude to those who have devoted and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, national reunification and firmly protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Over the years, with the attention of the Party and the State, the lives of people with meritorious services and their families have been constantly improved in both material and spiritual terms. The movement "All people take care of families of war invalids, martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution", the "Repaying gratitude" and "Comradely affection" funds have been increasingly developed. The construction, upgrading and renovation of martyrs' graves, martyrs' cemeteries and works honoring martyrs have received investment attention; The work of searching, collecting and identifying martyrs' remains has been actively and effectively implemented... Notably, recently, on July 1, 2024, the Government issued Decree No. 77/2024/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 75/2021/ND-CP and Decree No. 55/2023/ND-CP stipulating the levels of allowances, subsidies and preferential regimes for people with revolutionary contributions. Accordingly, the standard level of preferential subsidies for people with revolutionary contributions has been adjusted from VND 2,055,000 to VND 2,789,000 (an increase of 35.7%). This is the highest increase in the past 20 years, contributing to improving and enhancing the lives of people with revolutionary contributions and their relatives. On this occasion, authorities at all levels from central to local levels organized visits and presented gifts to nearly 1.4 million people with meritorious services and relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution with a total cost of nearly 420 billion VND.

Thanks to the consensus and participation of all levels, sectors and the entire population, and the effective implementation of social policies, the material and spiritual life of people with meritorious services to the revolution and policy families in Thai Nguyen province has been constantly improved. Currently, Thai Nguyen province has over 130,000 people with meritorious services to the revolution, of which nearly 20,000 people are receiving monthly allowances with a total annual budget of over 600 billion VND. Despite many difficulties, Thai Nguyen province has tried to ensure the regimes and policies for war invalids, families of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution. In the past time, the province has built and repaired over 2,000 gratitude houses, taken care of and supported Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; supported living conditions and sudden difficulties when people with meritorious services encountered difficult circumstances or illness. Every year, the province organizes to send 34% of policy beneficiaries for treatment and sightseeing inside and outside the area; buys over 4,700 Health Insurance Cards for policy beneficiaries and meritorious people; organizes visits and presents gifts to war invalids and families of martyrs on the occasion of holidays, Tet and War Invalids and Martyrs Day...
