In addition, the association will promote training and application of precision medicine for students; create great potential in personalized treatment, bring high-tech 3D technology into effective and cost-saving treatment practices; create a public-private-institution-school cooperation environment to promote research and production of domestic 3D medical equipment, reduce dependence on imported products with high prices and difficult to access widely so that patients can benefit.
According to the leaders of the Ministry of Health , the establishment of the Association is a step in line with the trend of science and technology development in modern health care. The Ministry of Health expects the Vietnam 3D Medical Technology Association to become a bridge between experts, medical facilities, research institutes and technology enterprises, promoting knowledge transfer and practical application, contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment in Vietnam.
The establishment of the Vietnam 3D Medical Technology Association is a testament to the initiative of the team of experts in adapting to innovation, while complying with legal regulations and making practical contributions to the country's healthcare system.
Professor, Dr. Tran Trung Dung, Director of the Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Vinmec Times City International General Hospital affirmed: “3D printing technology has been bringing breakthroughs in diagnosis, treatment, medical training and production of personalized medical devices. The establishment of the Association is necessary to connect resources and build an ecosystem for developing 3D technology in the Vietnamese healthcare industry."
According to Professor Tran Trung Dung, specific evidence from research and implementation activities at leading medical facilities in the country shows that 3D printing technology not only improves the quality of treatment but also contributes to minimizing errors, optimizing costs and personalizing health care for patients in Vietnam.
At the congress, delegates unanimously approved the Association's Charter, personnel plan and elected an Executive Committee of 27 members. Professor, Dr. Tran Trung Dung was elected as the Association's President. The Executive Committee committed to promoting its role as a bridge between the parties, contributing to promoting the application of 3D technology in clinical practice and research.
