Evaluation of FL2215 potato seed production linkage model specializing in processing

In the 2024-2025 winter crop, Viettrans Logistics Joint Stock Company has cooperated with people in the districts of Nga Son, Hoang Hoa, Quang Xuong, and Nong Cong to plant 47 hectares of FL2215 potatoes for processing. In particular, the company cooperated with Mr. Truong Van Manh's household in Tuong Son commune (Nong Cong) to plant 20 hectares of FL2215 potatoes. This is a potato variety imported from abroad by PepsiCo Food Company Limited and exclusively distributed to purchase and process potato snacks in a chain. FL2215 potato variety has many advantages, such as: strong growth, many layers of tubers, resistance to complex weather, good resistance to pests and diseases, especially aphids, green wilt, and downy mildew. Potatoes meet high requirements for size, quality, and uniformity.

During the production process, Mr. Truong Van Dung's household was transferred the techniques of planting, caring, preventing pests and diseases and purchasing all products by the company. After 100 days of planting, the potato area has now been harvested, with an average yield of 23 tons/ha. With the company's purchase price at the field of 7,500 VND/kg, after deducting costs, each hectare of potatoes brings a profit of 50 to 60 million VND. This is a model of linking potato planting with a large, concentrated area, applying full mechanization to production and harvesting to reduce labor, reduce production costs and increase product value.

With the effectiveness of the model, in the winter crop of 2025-2026, Viettrans Logistics Joint Stock Company continues to cooperate with people in the districts of Nga Son, Hoang Hoa, Quang Xuong, Nong Cong to expand the area to 200 hectares of FL2215 potatoes specializing in processing. This is the premise for Thanh Hoa's agricultural sector to continue expanding the area of ​​potatoes according to concentrated commodity production areas, forming a "4-house" linkage in the agricultural production and consumption chain, increasing the income value per unit area.
