However, food safety assurance is currently facing challenges such as: residues of pesticides, veterinary drugs, preservatives in agricultural products such as vegetables, fruits, poultry meat, seafood are still not completely controlled. Managers and people directly in contact with food are given health checks before being hired and annually according to regulations. They are trained in food safety and know how to prevent food contamination during food processing and preservation. Raw materials for processing must be fresh, have a contract, ensure the origin of safe food, preserve food well and the time after processing until eating to avoid the intrusion of microorganisms and insects, and implement the regime of storing cooked food samples in the refrigerator for 24 hours according to regulations. According to comrade Duong Quang Thap, Vice Chairman of Cau Ngang District People's Committee, the Food Safety Action Month 2024 takes place from April 15 to May 15 across the district. Organize inspections, checks, and supervision at alcohol production and trading establishments; production, trading, preliminary processing and processing establishments from fresh vegetables, meat and seafood; especially markets supplying vegetables, meat and seafood; promptly detect and strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate the regulations.
Actively coordinate with relevant sectors and localities to focus on solving food safety issues from promoting and expanding safe agricultural production, creating markets for safe products; strictly handling violations in trading and using banned substances in livestock farming, focusing on creating breakthroughs and changes in 4 main areas: banned substances in livestock farming, chemicals, banned antibiotics in aquaculture, pesticides and organic fertilizers, etc.
