The conference was hosted by Binh Thuan Forestry Company Limited in Phan Thiet ward, Lam Dong province, with the participation of representatives from several relevant departments and agencies, as well as representatives from 42 forestry companies nationwide.
This is an organization comprising state-owned forestry companies under the management of provincial People's Committees throughout Vietnam, covering the North, Central, South, and Central Highlands regions. The network is part of the Vietnam Forest Owners Association and was established to share experiences, provide mutual support and assistance in the effective management and protection of forests and forest land; improve corporate governance; and promote efficient business management…

After three years of implementing the program, the network's organizational system has become increasingly refined, its membership has expanded to various regions, and it has gradually stabilized. As a result, it has begun to operate effectively and efficiently. To date, the network has gathered 58 member companies in the North, Central, South, and Central Highlands regions.

Many good solutions and valuable experiences in resolving difficulties related to land management and protection, forest protection, and preventing people from encroaching on state-allocated or leased land, as well as specific methods for gradually shifting from cyclical forest leases to phased leases or self-investment to improve production and business efficiency, were shared by companies and yielded many positive results.
Forests and forest land have been managed and protected more strictly, with virtually no new areas of forest and land being cleared or encroached upon. Furthermore, the network has created a platform for interaction, exchange, learning from experience, and increasingly deep cooperation for development. Through sharing practical experiences, many units have applied diverse seed varieties and changed seed types in the forest plantation business cycle. As a result, many companies and forest plantation areas have been able to limit the outbreak of diseases.

Specifically, Binh Thuan Forestry Company Limited has been a member of the network since its inception. The company manages and protects over 18,800 hectares of forest, including nearly 10,500 hectares of planted forest and over 3,000 hectares of natural forest. This enterprise is focusing on developing its goals in the field of forest planting to improve productivity through various intensive farming solutions; developing forestry seed sources based on tissue culture technology to achieve high-quality planted forests for wood processing, creating a value chain from seedling nursery - planting - harvesting - processing - services...

At the conference, in addition to highlighting the achievements of the past period, delegates discussed and pointed out existing shortcomings and limitations. For example, the network has not yet created strong momentum for the development of cooperation and linkages to create a continuous value chain among companies within the network.
Furthermore, the business transition process is lengthy and inflexible; the activities of the network's liaison committee members are not frequent enough…
Delegates also raised concerns about shortcomings in policies and mechanisms related to the production, business operations, and forest management and protection of the companies. The aim was to remove bottlenecks and obstacles affecting the efficiency of the enterprises. At the same time, delegates discussed and proposed many solutions to improve management capacity, apply sustainable forest management standards; and establish mechanisms for linkage and cooperation between companies from planting and harvesting to deep processing and product consumption, in order to maintain and develop the network of state-owned forestry companies nationwide in the future.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Phuc highly appreciated the results achieved by the Network of Forestry Companies in the past period. He also expressed his hope that members of the regional Forestry Companies Network would continue to promote the role of sharing, connecting, exchanging experiences, and sharing models… thereby creating a highly competitive ecosystem for the forestry sector, contributing to promoting sustainable forest management, increasing productivity, quality, and value of products.

The Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested that local authorities promptly address difficulties and obstacles faced by forestry companies. Simultaneously, they should expedite the implementation of state management in forestry, including the early issuance of land use plans for forestry. Furthermore, there needs to be a connection between businesses and scientists to create a value chain; build resources, improve the quality of training; and promote the application of science and technology in forest management and protection.
