The conference was hosted by Binh Thuan Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. in Phan Thiet ward, Lam Dong province, with the participation of leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and sectors, and representatives of 42 forestry companies nationwide.

This is an organization consisting of state forestry companies under the management of the People's Committees of the provinces, throughout Vietnam, in the North - Central - South - Central Highlands regions. The network is part of the organizational system of the Vietnam Forest Owners Association, established to share experiences, support and help each other to strictly manage and protect forests and forestry land; improve the quality of corporate governance; promote effective business management...

After 3 years of implementing the program, the network's organizational system has been increasingly improved, network members have been expanded to more and more regions and gradually stabilized. Thereby, the initial steps have been put into operation effectively and practically. Up to now, the network has gathered 58 company members in the North - Central - South and Central Highlands regions.

Management and protection of planted forests at Binh Thuan Forestry One Member Co., Ltd.

Many good solutions and good experiences in solving problems in land management and protection, forest protection and preventing people from occupying land allocated or leased by the state, specific ways to gradually shift from cyclically contracted forest areas to phased contracts or self-investment to improve production and business efficiency... were shared by companies and brought about many positive results.

Forests and forestry land have been basically managed and protected more and more closely, with basically no new areas of forest and land being cut down or encroached upon. On the other hand, the network has created a place for exchange, learning experiences, and increasingly deep cooperation. Through sharing practical experiences, many units have applied a variety of breeds, changing breeds in the rotation of plantation business. Thanks to that, it has helped many companies and plantation areas limit the occurrence of diseases.

As for Binh Thuan Forestry One Member Co., Ltd., which has been a member of the network since the very first days, the company is managing and protecting forests of over 18,800 hectares, with a planted forest area of nearly 10,500 hectares and more than 3,000 hectares of natural forest. This enterprise is focusing on developing the set goals in the field of afforestation to increase productivity with many intensive solutions; developing forestry seed sources based on the application of tissue culture technology to achieve the quality of planted forests for wood processing investment, creating a value chain from nursery - afforestation - exploitation - processing - services...

At the conference, in addition to highlighting the results achieved in the past time, delegates discussed and pointed out the remaining shortcomings and limitations. For example, the network has not yet created a strong driving force for cooperation and linkage to create a continuous value chain between companies in the network.

The delegates also proposed shortcomings in the policy mechanism related to production and business activities, forest protection management of companies. The purpose is to remove bottlenecks and obstacles that affect the efficiency of enterprises. At the same time, the delegates also discussed and proposed many solutions to improve management capacity, apply sustainable forest management standards; linkage and cooperation mechanisms between companies from forest planting, exploitation, to deep processing and product consumption to maintain and develop the network of State Forestry Companies nationwide in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Phuc highly appreciated the results achieved by the Network of Forestry Companies in the past time. At the same time, he hoped that members of the Network of Regional Forestry Companies would continue to promote the role of sharing, connecting, exchanging experiences, sharing models, etc. Thereby, creating a highly competitive forestry industry ecosystem, contributing to promoting sustainable forest management, increasing productivity, quality and product value.

The Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested local authorities to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles for forestry companies. At the same time, promptly deploy state management of forestry, including early issuance of forestry land use planning. In addition, there needs to be a connection between businesses and scientists , creating value chains; building resources, improving training quality; promoting the application of science and technology to manage and protect forests.
