According to Decision No. 1660/QD-TTg dated December 26, 2024, the Prime Minister allocated to Bac Kan province a capital of VND 200 billion to implement 13 projects in Cho Don, Ba Be, Cho Moi, Na Ri districts, and Bac Kan city. According to Decision No. 88/QD-UBND dated January 20, 2025 of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province on the allocation of funds, it also clearly stated: Project implementing units, when implementing, must ensure the correct subjects, implement the support capital in accordance with the provisions of law; ensure quality, progress, efficiency, not to incur outstanding debts for basic construction and disburse 100% of the allocated capital before December 31, 2025.

On May 22, 2025, the provincial working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, together with representatives of relevant departments and branches of the province, inspected the progress of the implementation of these projects in Cho Don and Ba Be districts. At the inspection sites, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed the investors to promptly complete the procedures and documents, hand over the site to the construction unit to start construction in May 2025.

Following the direction of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, at the end of May 2025, the construction unit of the urgent natural disaster resettlement project in Dong Lac commune arranged machinery and equipment to carry out the construction. The goal of this project is to relocate, organize, and stabilize the population of 18 households in the area at high risk of landslides caused by storm No. 3. The total area of implementation is about 20,000m2 ; the total implementation capital is 24 billion VND.

However, in Cho Don district, as of June 5, 2025, there are still 02 projects that have not started construction, which are the Ban Chang embankment project, Na Bjoóc village, Phuong Vien commune and the project for arranging concentrated residents for urgent natural disasters in Ban Khat village, Quang Bach commune. For the Ban Chang embankment project, the embankment of Cau river is implemented to prevent landslides of people's production land, at the same time creating an environmental landscape, stabilizing the flow. The total length of the right bank embankment is 531m, the embankment wall is designed to bear the load, the embankment wall height is 2.5m to 3.5m... the total investment is 08 billion VND.
The project of arranging concentrated residential areas for urgent natural disasters in Ban Khat village, Quang Bach commune, aims to arrange and stabilize the population for 23 households in Quang Bach commune located in the high-risk landslide area caused by storm No. 3. The total area of the project is about 30,000m2 , of which the residential area of 23 households is nearly 7,000m2 , including residential land ( 300m2 /household), the rest is traffic land and other production land... The total investment of the project is 26 billion VND.

According to Mr. Chu Van Hiep, Deputy Director of the Cho Don District Construction Investment Project Management Board (representing the investor), the two projects invested by the district are behind schedule compared to the direction of the provincial leaders. Currently, the unit is carrying out procedures to select a contractor for the Ban Chang embankment project; the project to arrange concentrated residential areas for urgent natural disasters in Ban Khat village, Quang Bach commune is currently facing land issues for a household. Currently, the unit is coordinating with the local government to resolve these issues so that before June 15, 2025, the unit will direct the contractor to carry out these two projects.

Currently, the project implementation time is running out, while the rainy and stormy season is approaching, the weather is complicated, the investor needs to closely coordinate with local authorities in site inspection, speed up site clearance, complete investment procedures, select qualified contractors for urgent construction. Strengthen supervision of construction quality, ensure effective use of investment capital, avoid waste and loss... After completion, these projects will not only serve the needs of people for housing and production, but also contribute to reducing natural disaster risks, stabilizing residents in landslide-prone areas, improving infrastructure and promoting socio -economic development./.
