To ensure the soldiers are even more confident in their weapons, Ho Chi Minh City has shown great care and attention to the Tet holiday with many meaningful activities. Comrade Nguyen Van Duoc, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, directed: The city's armed forces play a particularly important role in protecting the city's peace, especially during the Lunar New Year. Therefore, caring for the material and spiritual lives of the soldiers is not only a responsibility but also an expression of gratitude and appreciation from the Party Committee, government, and people of the city towards the officers and soldiers.

Following the city leaders' directives, the task of caring for officers and soldiers of the armed forces during Tet (Lunar New Year) was implemented synchronously from the city level down to each ward, commune, and special zone. Beyond simply visiting and giving gifts, units and localities proactively allocated funds from their production activities, budgets, and mobilized social resources to organize activities that reflect the strong bond between the military and the people, such as "Military-Civilian Tet," "Spring for Soldiers," and "A Heartfelt Year-End Meal"...

Specifically, according to the plan, the "Military-Civilian Tet" program will include many meaningful activities, such as: offering incense to commemorate fallen heroes; a competition in wrapping and cooking banh chung and banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes); free medical examinations and medicine distribution for disadvantaged people and policy beneficiaries; repairing houses of gratitude and houses for comrades; giving gifts to officers, soldiers, policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged households; cleaning streets and rural roads... These are simple actions but imbued with the spirit of solidarity between the military and the people.

Officers and soldiers of Thanh An island commune patrol the maritime border area.

In Thạnh An island commune, a place exposed to the elements, the spirit of spring arrives in its own unique way. Comrade Lưu Hoàng Giang, Deputy Commander of the Military Command of Thạnh An island commune, shared: "We coordinated the organization of Tet activities for the military and civilians to help officers and soldiers feel secure in their work and remain steadfast on duty during Tet. The unit arranged reasonable duty shifts and gave Tet gifts to the soldiers. In particular, the soldiers joined the local people in making banh chung and banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) and enjoyed folk games. This sharing will make the officers and soldiers clearly feel the warmth of spring on this remote island."

Militia soldier Tran Le Nhat Truong, from the Military Command of Thanh An island commune, said emotionally: "We are very happy to receive visits, encouragement, and gifts from local leaders. We clearly understand our duty, always maintain a high level of vigilance, and are ready to fight to firmly protect the sacred sea and islands of our Fatherland."

Along with support from the city and local authorities, the armed forces units have also proactively promoted agricultural production, improved barracks landscapes, and decorated for Tet (Lunar New Year) in conjunction with traditional education . All units have plans to organize cultural, artistic, and sports exchanges; competitions in making banh chung (traditional rice cakes), creating wall newspapers, arranging Tet feasts, and holding spring flower and bonsai competitions... These are practical activities that improve the lives of soldiers, strengthen solidarity, and ensure the successful completion of their duties.

From thoughtful gifts to creative and flexible initiatives, Ho Chi Minh City places great emphasis on caring for its armed forces officers and soldiers during Tet (Lunar New Year). Amidst the spreading spring atmosphere throughout the city, the image of soldiers silently guarding the peaceful homeland becomes a profound beauty in the hearts of the people, enhancing the noble qualities of the "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" in the new era.
