(QNO) - The Ministry of Transport has just sent an official dispatch to the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Nam province to respond to voters' petitions after the 5th session of the 15th National Assembly.
According to the petition of Quang Nam voters, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has planned to upgrade the Tay Giang secondary border gate into a main border gate in the period of 2023 - 2030, however, the route from Ho Chi Minh road to the border gate is not yet guaranteed, making travel very difficult. The Government is requested to consider, direct, and have a plan to upgrade and expand this route.
The Ministry of Transport said that the section connecting Ho Chi Minh road to Tay Giang secondary border gate is DT606, with a length of 69.35km, the current status is a grade 5 mountainous road, the roadbed width is 5-6.5m, the road surface width is 3.3-6.5m, the road surface structure is asphalt. According to the provincial planning, the road will be upgraded to grade 4 mountainous standards, progressing before 2020.
The Ministry of Transport agrees with the proposal of voters of Quang Nam province to soon deploy the construction of the route connecting Ho Chi Minh road to Tay Giang sub-border gate to create favorable conditions for people to travel, connect with the border gate to contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality.
However, since this is a project under the management and investment authority of the locality, it is recommended that the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Nam province forward the voters' petition to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province for consideration and proactively balance the local budget for investment. In case of requesting support from the central budget, it is recommended that the People's Committee of Quang Nam province study and report to the competent authority for consideration and decision.
