Math exam for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City, candidates have mixed opinions

At the Hong Bang Secondary School exam site in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City, many candidates said they did not do well on the exam. Some students wiped away tears as they left the exam room.

Ngo Thua An at this testing site said he did the test "roughly": "I did about 2/3 of the test but I'm not sure."

Meanwhile, many candidates only expected to get around 5 or 6 points. "Question 6 of the actual exam was a bit strange. I couldn't do it," said candidate Bao Lam.

Also at the Hong Bang Secondary School exam site, some candidates said they could have gotten 7 or 8 points, but the actual math questions were strange and difficult.

"I didn't finish the test, including the new factual question and I couldn't do question C on the geometry question, but after self-scoring, I still think I have the ability to get an 8," said contestant Minh Chau at this test site.

At the Luong The Vinh High School exam site (District 1), many candidates were smiling as they left after completing the math test. In a quick conversation with reporters, the students said they had done the test.

At Phu Nhuan High School exam site, many candidates said they could get a score of 7. However, there were some strange practical questions that made them a bit confused.

A math teacher in Ho Chi Minh City assessed that this year's exam was easier than last year's. Accordingly, the exam followed the sample exam closely; there was only question 6 to classify candidates; and the geometry question 7 was not as difficult as in previous years.

According to this teacher, this year's exam scores could be about 0.5-0.75 higher at the top.
