On May 17, the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province said it had sent a document requesting the Department of Finance to soon submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval to prepare investment reports for two key bus station projects: the parking lot at the beginning of Prenn Pass and the combined bus station at the Darahoa intersection (the gateway to Da Lat - Nha Trang).
According to the Department of Construction, these two projects were mentioned by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee in 2023 and 2024, but so far the investment policy has not been approved, leading to the inability to hire consultants to prepare documents.
Amid growing demand for transportation, many businesses have shown interest in the two projects.
According to the proposal, Darahoa bus station is expected to be built in Da Sar commune (Lac Duong district) bordering Da Lat city. The project has a scale of 36.6 hectares, total investment capital of more than 884 billion VND, serving about 817 passenger cars, 83 minibuses and more than 60 taxis, with a total estimated number of users of nearly 35,000 people.
Meanwhile, the parking lot at the beginning of Prenn Pass is planned in Ward 3 (Da Lat City) and Hiep An Commune (Duc Trong District), with an area of 38 hectares and a total investment of about 1,000 billion VND. This project acts as a transit point for passenger cars from Da Lat City to the southern provinces.

Both projects are part of the master plan to reduce traffic congestion in Da Lat by 2025 and vision to 2030. Currently, the Da Lat inter-provincial bus station - the only bus station officially allowed to operate - has been overloaded for many years. This situation has led to a series of transport businesses having to illegally pick up and drop off passengers right in the city center, seriously affecting traffic order.
The Department of Construction emphasized that the implementation of the two bus stations is an "urgent requirement", and requested the Department of Finance to soon advise the Provincial People's Committee to approve the policy so that investment can be called for on schedule for the 2025 - 2028 period. In particular, site clearance will be carried out until the fourth quarter of 2025, with a maximum construction period of 36 months from the time of land allocation.
