On September 16, Military Hospital 175 coordinated with Truong Tuoi Group Joint Stock Company and General Hospital, Binh Phuoc Province Department of Health to organize eye examination, consultation, and cataract surgery for policy beneficiaries, ethnic minorities and people of Binh Phuoc province.

The program takes place over 3 days from September 15 to September 17, 2023. After screening and surgery, patients are instructed to arrive one day in advance to complete the paperwork, have a medical examination, and do pre-operative tests.

The team of ophthalmologists from Military Hospital 175 coordinated with the Department of Health and Binh Phuoc General Hospital to perform free surgery for 60 patients in difficult circumstances, including policy beneficiaries, poor and near-poor households, and veterans of Binh Phuoc province.

Military Hospital 175 used the most modern and effective eye surgery method today with a cost of about 10 million VND per surgery. The entire surgery cost was supported by Truong Tuoi Group. In addition, the program also presented 60 gifts (500,000 VND/gift) to the patients. At the program, doctors from the two hospitals also examined and consulted on eye diseases for hundreds of people participating in the program.

The program “Bright Vietnamese Eyes” is a charity surgery project initiated by Military Hospital 175 in 2020 with the aim of joining hands to care for and protect the eye health of Vietnamese people with practical activities such as free eye examination and surgery for people in difficult circumstances. Thereby, raising public awareness of the importance of vision care and protection. To date, the program has performed hundreds of free cataract surgeries, bringing light to hundreds of poor people in the Southern region.
