Built during the Ly Dynasty, Duoi Temple is listed among the famous "ancient temples", a historical site in Hai Duong .
The national historical site of Duoi Temple is located in Thong Nhat Commune, Gia Loc District, Hai Duong Province. This is the place to worship the Queen Mother, Queen Mother Y Lan.

Princess Y Lan also has another name Linh Nhan Hoang Thai Hau, she was a concubine of Emperor Ly Thanh Tong and the mother of Emperor Ly Nhan Tong - two kings of the Ly dynasty (in the 11th century).
Queen Mother Y Lan is honored by history as a heroic woman with talent in governing the country. During her lifetime, she served as regent twice, had many great contributions to building the Ly dynasty and developing Vietnamese Buddhism.
The mark of historical ups and downs
With nearly a thousand years of existence, Duoi Temple has gone through many ups and downs, been affected by nature, rain and sun and the ravages of war. Many parts of the temple have seriously degraded.
In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, the relic still retains architectural items bearing the mark of the Later Le Dynasty (17th century) and the Nguyen Dynasty in the "quoc" style, including: the Front Hall, Middle Hall and Rear Hall, and two rows of parapets connecting the Front Hall and Middle Hall.
Within the relic complex, there is also Quynh Hoa pagoda and the mother house, which are also seriously degraded. To meet the expectations and needs of cultural and religious activities of local people and visitors from all over, the Duoi temple relic complex has invested in renovating and embellishing the basic items, including: the Front Hall, Middle Hall and Rear Hall, two left and right corridors, the inner gate and some auxiliary items.

In 2023-2024, after being renovated, Duoi Temple will still retain its original architectural layout. The items will be embellished, renovated and upgraded to be majestic and spacious.
The Front Hall consists of three compartments, built in the shape of the letter “nhat” with four main rafters. The system of columns, overhangs, and rafters are made of ironwood, with a “stacked beam and gong rack” structure and sophisticated carvings.
The two main halls of the temple are connected by two rows of altars, forming a closed space. The rear hall has three compartments, including a forbidden palace, decorated with an altar and a statue of the First Concubine Hoang Thai Hau Y Lan.
In particular, Duoi Temple still preserves many valuable worshiping and sacrificial objects and antiques, such as four sets of palanquins, a dragon pavilion, four thrones, a set of eight treasures, two parallel sentences, a bronze incense burner and two stone lions from the 17th century.

Preserving cultural values and traditional festivals
After two years of active construction, by August 2024, the national historical relic complex of Duoi Temple had completed basic items, ensuring technical and aesthetic factors.
This complex has a spacious campus and beautiful landscape. The majestic and splendid items add to the majesty of the relic.
Duoi Temple preserves cultural heritage values, especially in terms of architectural art. Worship and ritual objects are arranged in the inner sanctuary to ensure harmony and science .
With a harmonious combination of architecture and landscape, the temple is imbued with East Asian culture, a spiritual and cultural work, preserving many historical, architectural, artistic and traditional values of the homeland.
This year's inauguration ceremony of the restoration and embellishment of the National Historical Relic and the Traditional Festival of Duoi Temple have many rich programs of activities.

The ceremony includes the following rituals: the announcement ceremony, the bathing ceremony, the procession, the inauguration ceremony and the incense offering. The festival includes many cultural, artistic, sports and folk games such as: dragon and lion dance performances, festival drums, welcome performances, water puppetry performances, a festival of performing to serve the Saints and folk games such as human chess, duck catching, tug of war, volleyball tournament, football...
According to the Organizing Committee, preparations for the Inauguration Ceremony and Traditional Festival of Duoi Temple in Thong Nhat Commune, Gia Loc District in 2024 from August 25-27 have been basically completed.
This is a special cultural event on a large scale, attracting a large number of delegates, distinguished guests from the province to the grassroots, local officials and people from neighboring countryside, and tourists from all over.
