On the morning of November 17, the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Province Police said that prolonged rain had caused landslides and fallen trees at Km 205+400 on Ngoan Muc Pass. The incident caused National Highway 27 – the vital traffic route connecting Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa – to be completely blocked in both directions.
According to authorities, the main cause was heavy rainfall from the night of November 15 to the morning of November 16, reaching 187mm/24 hours, combined with the weak geology of the area such as weathered rocks and a developing crack system, leading to the landslide.

Immediately after the incident occurred, functional units quickly deployed emergency response measures, inspected the scene and organized forces to ensure traffic safety.
The Traffic Police Department has set up a checkpoint, temporarily stopping traffic through the pass to serve the repair work, and at the same time advised people and drivers not to travel through Ngoan Muc Pass in the next 24-36 hours to ensure safety.
