Currently, the rain situation in the Don Duong reservoir basin continues, so the Company will increase the water discharge flow through the Don Duong spillway from 200m3/s to 300m3/s at 9:00 a.m. on November 17 and will likely increase the water discharge flow through the spillway in the coming hours.
The Company's Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue requested the People's Committees of communes along the downstream of Don Duong Lake to coordinate to ensure downstream safety.
According to information from Lam Dong Hydrometeorological Station, the province is currently being mainly affected by the southwest edge. The cold continental high pressure has increased, the northeast wind is operating at medium to strong intensity. From November 16 to 18, the easterly wind disturbance in the upper atmosphere combined with the equatorial low pressure trough in the southern sea area tends to lift the axis to the north and affect the weather in the province.
On November 16, many localities in the province had widespread rain, with moderate to heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places. Total rainfall reached 30-50 mm/24 hours, some areas exceeded 70 mm; in particular, the North, East and Northeast recorded more than 100 mm in some places.
On November 17, rain continued to be sustained in many areas of the province with common rainfall of 20-50mm, some places higher than 70mm. From November 18 to 20, Lam Dong continued to have scattered rain, moderate to heavy rain intensity, total rainfall from 20-40mm, locally exceeding 60mm.
