On October 26, Dong Thap University held the opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 school year with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, leaders of Dong Thap province and thousands of students and new students. In 2023, Dong Thap University will enroll 41 undergraduate majors and 1 college major. Thereby, 4,339 students from provinces and cities came to complete admission procedures and become new students of the school for the 2023-2024 school year.

At the opening ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Van Toan, Deputy Director of the Center forEducational Quality Assessment, Hanoi National University, Chairman of the Assessment Council, awarded Certificates to 7 training programs of Dong Thap University. With 7 training programs recognized as meeting the above quality assessment standards, Dong Thap University has 23/41 training programs meeting the quality assessment standards, accounting for 56.09%.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province awarded certificates of merit to 1 collective and 22 individuals of Dong Thap University who had excellently completed their tasks in the 2022-2023 school year. Also at the opening ceremony, many new students and students of the school with good academic achievements, overcoming difficulties to study well were awarded scholarships from the school and the Nguyen Sinh Sac Scholarship Fund.
