These destinations are located within Nha Trang City, and the travel distance is not too far, making them suitable for many tourists of all ages.
1. Tri Nguyen Island - Bich Dam Island
These two peaceful islands are located in Nha Trang Bay. To get there, you have to take a boat or speedboat from Phu Quy public ferry terminal (Vinh Truong ward, Nha Trang city).
On Tri Nguyen Island, you can visit Hon Soi with its smooth, round stones covering the beach, or Tri Nguyen Aquarium with its diverse marine life… Meanwhile, on Bich Dam Island, visitors can explore Hon Lon Lighthouse – one of the five oldest lighthouses in Vietnam. The island also features historical sites such as An Thanh Temple and Bich Dam communal house…
On these two islands, you can enjoy seafood, swim to your heart's content on secluded beaches, or simply lie down and read a book under the trees.
2. Yersin Museum
The Yersin Museum is located within the grounds of the Pasteur Institute (Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang City). It houses many valuable artifacts and images of Alexandre Yersin, a French doctor of Swiss origin who discovered the plague bacillus and was a benefactor of the people of Khanh Hoa .
The museum displays everything from the letters he sent to his mother to the microscope that detected the plague bacteria, and the bed where he breathed his last… Along the walkways are black and white images of the land and people of Khanh Hoa, evoking a sense of nostalgia.
3. Crossing Pham Van Dong Pass, enjoying the breeze at Heo Cave.
Pham Van Dong Pass (Luong Son Pass) is one of the most beautiful mountain passes in Nha Trang. Tourists only need to travel about 15 minutes north along Pham Van Dong road to reach the pass.
At the end of the Pham Van Dong pass, after walking about 200 meters inland, visitors will encounter a curved rocky beach stretching nearly a kilometer along the coastline.
To the left is Luong Son beach, and to the right are towering, bizarre rock formations.
Climbing inside these rock formations leads to Heo Cave. From here, visitors can look out over Nha Phu Lagoon with its many fishing boats and listen to the wind blowing through the crevices in the rocks.
4. Climb Co Tien Mountain to admire Nha Trang at night.
Co Tien Mountain (Vinh Hoa Ward, Nha Trang City) is a cluster of three adjacent mountains with an average height of about 300m - 400m, resembling the figure of a woman with flowing hair, looking up at the sky.
To conquer all three peaks, visitors will need 3-4 hours of travel. Therefore, be sure to prepare plenty of water and snacks for a smooth and safe climb.
The mountain offers unique beauty at different times of the day. In the early morning, you can watch the sunrise over the sea or see clouds drifting gently over the city.
In the afternoon, you'll watch the sunset, and after dark, from the mountain you'll see Nha Trang illuminated with dazzling lights.
5. Camping at Am Chua Lake
Located about 14km west of Nha Trang city, Am Chua Lake (Dien Dien commune, Dien Khanh district) sits halfway up Dai An mountain at an altitude of about 80m.
The lake has many large, lush green lawns, perfect for camping by the lake and relaxing with friends and family. The lake water is especially beautiful, with its turquoise color.
In addition, this place is very close to the shrine of the Holy Mother Thien YA Na - a goddess in the beliefs of the Cham and Vietnamese people.
The entrance to Am Chua Lake is surrounded by vast rice fields. During this time of year, you can also witness the bustling scene of locals harvesting their crops.
