BHG - Ha Giang has gradually affirmed its position on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world . Gradually becoming a "search keyword" for those who are passionate about traveling, love to explore the wild and majestic beauty of nature, attracting millions of visitors each year. In the first 9 months of 2024, Ha Giang welcomed about 2.5 million visitors, including over 290 thousand international visitors, over 2 million domestic visitors, (an increase of 0.5% over the same period in 2023, reaching 77.1% of the plan), total revenue from tourism is estimated at 6,120 billion VND. It is estimated that in the whole year of 2024, Ha Giang will welcome 3.2 million visitors. Why is Ha Giang tourism so attractive?
Ha Giang has many attractive tourist destinations, beautiful natural landscapes, diverse culture and fresh environment: Km0 milestone, Vuong family mansion; Lung Cu National Flagpole; Ma Pi Leng pass; Tu San alley, Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark... It is the beauty of the harmony between nature and people that creates a beautiful and unique picture that cannot be found anywhere else.

Asked why she chose Ha Giang as her destination, Ms. Hoang Mai Anh, a tourist from Phu Yen province, shared: “I have seen many images of Ha Giang through the media, especially when the World Tourism Organization recognized this place as the top emerging destination in Asia. Before going, because of the storm information, I hesitated a lot but still determined to come. Luckily, the natural scenery and people here made me extremely satisfied. I was happy to conquer a long journey by myself, looking at the rolling mountains, winding terraced fields... I felt my soul was healed, a truly memorable trip.”
Although the situation of rain, storms, and landslides affected the tourism industry, the Provincial People's Committee and departments, branches and sectors quickly overcame difficulties, promoted all advantages, and were ready to open to welcome tourists during the festival season, specifically: Tourist transport: 360 vehicles running to provinces and cities nationwide; 97 vehicles running within the province; 53 inland waterway tourism boats. Tourist accommodation: By the end of September, the whole province had 992 accommodation establishments, 9,000 rooms and 18,000 rooms, notably 2 hotels that were ranked 4 stars by the National Tourism Administration, namely Yen Bien Luxyry and Phoenix; compared to the same period in 2023, there was an increase of 71 accommodation establishments, about 0.77%. 217 domestic and international tour guides.

Meeting tourist Dinh Thi Hai Yen from Hanoi, she said: “This is my second time coming to Ha Giang, the first time I came here was 5 years ago. After a long time coming back, I was really surprised by the increasingly professional service and tourism organization. I have traveled to many places but in terms of transportation, accommodation conditions, tourist attractions that do not rip off customers, Ha Giang is really doing very well. I hope that in the future I will have the opportunity to return to the northernmost place of the country many more times.”
To improve the quality of service for tourists during the festival season, the Management Board of tourist areas and spots should propagate and inspect to prevent the situation of asking for money, soliciting, following tourists, disturbing security and order. Prevent and fight fires and explosions, ensure food safety and hygiene, and maintain environmental hygiene. Install signs advising tourists not to give gifts or money to children at tourist spots and remind people and tourists to dispose of garbage in designated places. Propagate and mobilize business service owners to have receptionists wear traditional costumes to welcome tourists during holidays, Tet, and festivals. Propagate to local agricultural and commodity production establishments to grasp knowledge and skills in selling and displaying products and goods; communication skills with customers; business ethics; goods must have labels, origin, listed prices and be sold at listed prices. Disseminate traffic safety laws, raise awareness of compliance for people and tourists when participating in traffic; Urge owners of waterway vehicles to fully equip themselves with flotation devices and life jackets to ensure safety for passengers and people when participating in traffic according to regulations, especially vehicles transporting tourists in hydroelectric reservoir areas.
