(Dan Tri) - Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has a floor score of 17 to 22 based on high school graduation exam scores, a decrease of 2 points compared to last year.

According to the school’s announcement, the two majors with the highest standard score of 22 points are medicine and dentistry. Next are traditional medicine and pharmacy, both with 19 points, the remaining majors are 17 points.

This is the total score of 3 subjects in the admission combination including priority points, excluding bonus points.

The minimum scores for the medical and pharmaceutical majors have decreased as the number of candidates registering for block B00 (math, chemistry, biology), which is the main block for admission to the medical major, has decreased sharply. Along with that, the average score of this year's block is about 2 points lower than last year.

In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy plans to enroll 2,576 students, an increase of 70 students compared to last year. This is a positive signal, opening up more opportunities for students passionate about the medical field.

Medicine continues to be the major with the highest enrollment quota, with 420 students recruited.

The most notable highlight in this year's admissions is that the school opened a new major and increased the admission combination from 2 to 4 combinations.

The social work major is newly opened and enrolls up to 4 groups including: B00 (math, chemistry, biology), A00 (math, physics, chemistry), B03 (math, biology, literature), B08 (math, biology, English). From 2026, the school will not use the A00 group to enroll in the social work major.

Adding literature to the medical school admissions test is a fairly new change and has received great attention from public opinion.

The remaining majors remain stable. Medical, dental, and traditional medicine majors consider combination B00 (math, chemistry, biology).

Pharmacy, pharmaceutical chemistry, nursing, anesthesia and resuscitation nursing, midwifery, dental prosthetics, medical testing, medical imaging, rehabilitation, nutrition, public health , and preventive medicine consider 2 groups B00 (math, chemistry, biology) and A00 (math, physics, chemistry).
