University admission floor scores in 2025 of schools nationwide

By July 23, most universities across the country had announced their admission threshold scores. Candidates need to update accurate information to adjust their wishes accordingly.

What is the floor score?

The floor score (or the threshold to ensure input quality) is the minimum score that candidates must achieve to be eligible to apply for admission to a major or group of majors at a university. Each school will determine its own floor score based on the number of quotas, input quality and exam score distribution.

In 2024, the minimum admission score based on high school graduation exam results of universities nationwide will range from 14 to 24.5 points, with the highest score belonging to the fields of Pedagogy, Medicine, and Dentistry.

Among them, the Mathematics Education major of Saigon University is considered to have the highest minimum score, only considering candidates with scores of 24.5 or higher.

Many leading public universities also consider admission at a threshold of 24 points or more for some majors, such as: Foreign Trade University, University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University), Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Hanoi Medical University...

Most of the remaining schools set the floor score in the range of 15-23 points, in line with the score range of candidates nationwide.

How long after the floor score is announced will the 2025 university benchmark scores be announced?

According to the 2025 university and college admissions guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training, from August 13 to 5:00 p.m. on August 20, training institutions will upload data, admission information; high school graduation exam scores; high school study results on the System; exam scores... (if any) and organize admissions.

The Ministry of Education and Training also processes the System to determine the highest wish among the wishes for which the candidate is eligible to be admitted.

By 5:00 p.m. on August 20, training institutions will enter the admission scores and admission results into the system. Review and prepare to announce the first round of admission results according to the general schedule.

Training institutions will notify candidates who have passed the first round before 5:00 p.m. on August 22.

After receiving the benchmark scores, successful candidates must confirm their enrollment on the system, no later than 5:30 p.m. on August 30.

The Ministry requires schools not to organize admissions before August 22. Additional admissions will start from September 1 until the end of the year.
