(QNO) - This afternoon, July 5, within the framework of the Tra My Cinnamon Festival 2023, the People's Committee of Bac Tra My district organized a startup forum to develop Tra My cinnamon - Cao Son Ngoc Que with the theme "Bringing the scent of the forest to the city".
According to the People's Committee of Bac Tra My district, at this time, the locality has more than 2,000 hectares of cinnamon (not including small-scale and intercropping areas). The average annual output is about 100 - 200 tons of cinnamon bark, however, by-products such as branches, twigs and leaves have not been fully utilized because cinnamon exploitation areas have difficult traffic, long transportation time and high costs.
In recent years, due to the high price of cinnamon (average from 75 - 80 thousand VND/kg), people have exploited with larger output. In 2022, the exploited output will reach over 400 to 500 tons.
The district has 4 cooperatives and 10 businesses specializing in producing more than 50 cinnamon products belonging to 5/6 product groups under the One Commune One Product Program for the period 2021 - 2025, including food groups such as cinnamon bark, cinnamon twigs, cinnamon powder, cinnamon spice powder, cinnamon flower honey, cinnamon-eating chicken eggs; beverage groups such as herbal cinnamon tea, Tra My cinnamon-flavored male papaya flower tea bags

Participating in the forum, speakers shared the unique characteristics of Tra My cinnamon, which need to be preserved and developed into quality products. In particular, many start-up products originating from Tra My cinnamon are successful in the market, favored by consumers, affirming the product brand.
Delegates also shared experiences and solutions to preserve and develop Tra My cinnamon in the coming time, aiming to bring Tra My cinnamon products to the international market.
