Urgent construction
Recorded at the Le Bac bridge construction site at noon on May 22, in the hot and humid weather, workers of Thanh Tung Company Ltd. were still diligently doing their tasks. At the T4 and T5 pillars, a team of skilled workers were completing a few final steps to pour concrete to the top beam.
After completing the two above mentioned pillars, the contractor will move specialized equipment and machinery to the north bank (Le Bac village) to construct the remaining pillars T7, T8 and pier M2.

According to observation, the construction of pier M1 on the south bank (near Duy Chau commune headquarters) and piers T1, T2, T3, T6 has been completed. The bored piles of pier M2 and piers T7, T8 have also been completed and are just waiting to be cast upwards.
Mr. Ngo Thanh Viet - executive officer of the Project Management Board - Duy Xuyen District Land Fund (investor) said that Le Bac Bridge consists of 2 piers and 8 pillars. Currently, the contractor has completed casting 4 pillars and 1 M1 pier; casting 15 beam slabs out of a total of 36 beam slabs. It is expected that on May 25, the construction unit will start installing the beams of the first 3 spans.

Mr. Ngo Thanh Viet added that if conditions are favorable, within 3 days the contractor will install enough beams for 3 spans (4 beams/span). Following the plan, the remaining beams will be cast in mid-July, closed at the end of August and the entire project will be basically completed by the end of October.
According to the signed contract, the project's construction progress is within 12 months (ending on December 16, 2025). Thus, the project will be completed one month early.

The investor representative shared that the southern bank road connecting to National Highway 14H (Duy Chau commune center) is not facing any land clearance issues. As for the northern bank, the compensation and land clearance plan has been submitted to the competent authority.
After being approved by the Duy Xuyen District People's Committee, the relevant parties will carry out the next steps. The advantage is that the land for the road leading to Le Bac village is not obstructed by houses, so there is no need to arrange resettlement.

The bridge of wishes
Looking at the towering bridge piers, many people in Le Bac village (Duy Chau commune) still thought it was a dream. Because in previous years, every time the rainy season came, people were worried. Floodwaters came, the road running under the dry river from the village to the commune center was deeply submerged, causing isolation.
Veteran Nguyen Xuan Phu (87 years old) expressed his excitement at the project that generations of people here have longed for. "I have been looking forward to this bridge for a long time, even if I die, I will be satisfied."

With the support of Quang Nam province, in 2024, Duy Xuyen district decided to invest in building Le Bac bridge to eliminate ferries, serving people to travel safely and conveniently, especially during the rainy season.
The bridge will eliminate the worry of large floods combined with simultaneous discharge of hydropower plants, leading to the risk of directly affecting people's property and lives. This project will form a traffic route connecting National Highway 14H with inter-commune, inter-district, and inter-regional routes to serve the circulation of goods and socio -economic development in the area.
