The sports sector in many countries around the world has truly become a profession in the economic system. The sports economy is a massive machine, linked to many other service production industries, creating jobs, profits, and income for individuals; contributing significant taxes to the national budget and creating positive social values.
In recent years, Vietnamese Sports have been increasingly prosperous, with many changes and good ways to promote the socialization of sports. The participation and contribution of the whole society has helped sports develop and achieve many achievements from regional, continental to Olympic levels. The Vietnam Sports Economic Forum 2024 with the theme "Promoting the potential of Sports Economy in the new era" will officially take place on the morning of October 17 at Melia Hotel, Hanoi. The 2024 Forum will have the participation of 200 delegates who are managers and experts at home and abroad, representing Federations, National Sports Associations, professional and grassroots sports tournament organizers; television stations and companies operating in the field of sports copyright and sports business. The Vietnam Sports Economic Forum is the place to share about investment issues in the sports sector to catch up with the world's development trends.

Held for the first time in 2023, the event was successfully organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Central Economic Committee, the Vietnam Olympic Committee and Vietcontent Company, attracting much attention and support from relevant Ministries and Branches. Many valuable views, opinions and experience sharing from agencies, organizations and individuals on issues related to the management and development of Vietnam's sports economy were presented at the forum. Following that success, the 2024 Sports Economic Forum (Vietnam Sport Economic Forum 2024) will be a place for experts, managers, domestic and foreign enterprises to focus on discussing and sharing in-depth and comprehensive views on issues related to the management and development of the sports economy in Vietnam. Accordingly, the 2024 Sports Economic Forum includes 3 discussion sessions focusing on the following contents: Creating a legal environment for sports economic development; The economic impact of organizing major sporting events on localities and host units; Exploiting the commercial value and benefits surrounding a sports tournament. The goal of the discussion sessions is to help assess the current legal environment; the advantages and difficulties of agencies and organizations in implementing sports activities, towards proposing to create a favorable environment, promote sports economic activities; maximize resources of the non-public sector in most areas of sports activities in the spirit of Conclusion No. 70-KL/TW of the Politburo dated January 31, 2024. Along with that is how to maximize benefits and minimize risks from large-scale sporting events. In addition, the discussion session also helps localities and units hosting each sporting event to prepare carefully, make detailed plans, and coordinate closely with relevant authorities to find suitable and effective directions for their localities and units. Speaking at the forum, Mr. Le Thanh Liem - Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, shared about the legal environment for implementing current sports activities; affirmed that the legal system on sports is divided into two groups: The group directly regulating sports activities; the group of related documents, especially regulations related to investment incentives, resource mobilization, and tax policies for sports activities.

From the point where physical training and sports were completely subsidized by the State, they have now been gradually socialized, a number of sports have gradually shifted to a professional sports mechanism, the role of social organizations, socio-professional organizations on physical training and sports has been increasingly enhanced; physical training and sports activities are regularly organized for different subjects and in all regions of the country, attracting the participation of a large number of people; physical training and sports service business activities are increasingly increasingly developed, contributing more to the socio-economic development of the country. Contributing to legalizing the provisions of international treaties in the field of physical training and sports of which Vietnam is a member, promoting exchanges and cooperation in physical training and sports between Vietnam and other countries and international sports organizations, contributing to the successful implementation of the Party and State's policy on international integration. Promoting the development of Vietnamese sports in recent years: the rate of people regularly exercising and playing sports increased to 29.53% of the total population, the rate of sports families reached 21.2% of the total number of households nationwide, the number of medals won at international sports competitions officially increased, the achievements of the Vietnamese sports delegation are always in the top 3 countries in Southeast Asia, a number of athletes have achieved the top level in Asia and the world./.Le Quang
