At the Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Forum 2024, experts, teachers and students will have the opportunity to share about the trend of applying AI technology ineducation .
Trends in AI integration in education
Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a part of the 4.0 industrial revolution, creating profound changes in many fields, including education.
Globally , artificial intelligence is increasingly integrated into the education system. The market size of artificial intelligence applied to educational technology is valued at 2.5 billion USD in 2022 globally. This technology is expected to increase from 3.45 billion USD in 2023 to 23.82 billion USD in 2030, a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 38.00% during the forecast period from 2024 to 2030. North America and Asia are the regions leading this trend, thanks to platforms such as smart tutors, virtual learning assistants and learning data analysis systems that help personalize education.
In the United States, platforms like DreamBox Learning and Carnegie Learning use AI to tailor learning content based on each student’s needs and abilities. China is not far behind, with companies like Squirrel AI using adaptive learning technology to improve teaching efficiency. Singapore, in particular, has rolled out AI programs starting in elementary school, incorporating tools like score prediction systems and student behavior analytics to assist teachers.
In his speech to the contestants in the live presentation round of the AI Contest 2024, Professor Thomas E. Patterson (Harvard University) said: "AI is not only changing the way we teach and learn, but is also a powerful tool to narrow the global education gap. It brings opportunities to every student, regardless of their starting point."
In Finland, the Elements of AI program is designed to help high school students understand the basic concepts of artificial intelligence, preparing them with the skills needed to adapt to the future labor market.
Contribute to inspiring the creative passion of the young generation of Vietnam
In Vietnam, the Government has clearly recognized the importance of AI and has issued many policies to promote AI research, development and application. The Ministry of Planning and Investment has assigned the National Innovation Center to coordinate with domestic and international partners and experts to research and build an AI Training, Research and Application Center to serve AI business incubation, support AI research, application and in-depth training on AI. The goal is to train 7,000 AI experts according to international standards by 2030 and incubate about 500 AI startups.
In this trend, initiatives such as the Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Contest and the Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Forum are important platforms to help high school students have early access to AI, while also arousing their passion for technology research.
The Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Forum - 2024 Artificial Intelligence Awards Ceremony will take place on December 21, 2024 at the Sheraton Hanoi Hotel. This will be an event to honor young talents and creative ideas, while also opening up opportunities for candidates to connect and learn from the world's leading experts.
According to the organizers, the content of the Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Forum 2024 will aim to promote awareness of the role of AI in education. The event will also honor young talents through the AI Contest 2024 awards ceremony. The event is expected to create a new step forward in promoting the integration of AI into education in Vietnam, thereby building a creative young generation ready to meet the challenges of the future.
