Ninh Binh Electricity conducts disaster prevention and control and search and rescue drills

On the afternoon of May 9, in Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh Power Company Limited organized a drill on natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue, power grid incident handling, information security and labor safety in 2025 with the participation of officers, employees of Gia Vien Power Company and related units.

The force participating in the exercise performed first aid on the fallen victim before taking him to a medical facility.

The hypothetical situation is: Due to a storm sweeping through the area with heavy rain and strong winds, a power grid failure occurred. The natural disaster risk level is level 3, causing a power outage on line 473E23.14 in Gia Phuong commune, Gia Vien district, causing 2 power poles to fall and damage all insulators, breaking the power lines; at the same time, tilting 2 adjacent power poles before and after the 2 fallen poles. While deploying and performing the task, 1 worker accidentally slipped and fell, resulting in a broken right arm, 1 worker was electrocuted, causing loss of consciousness.

With careful preparation, the units participating in the drill correctly and fully implemented operating procedures, incident handling procedures, occupational safety and hygiene regulations, and drill plans; made efforts to deploy incident response plans, minimizing power outage time.

According to the assessment of the leaders of Ninh Binh Power Company Limited: The preparation for the drill was highly appreciated, with full participation, well-equipped vehicles and protective equipment; quick incident finding..., the drill basically met the requirements. However, the leaders of the Company also pointed out some points that needed to be overcome, especially the slow and confusing speed of implementing the initial incident handling plan. In addition, the lack of some specialized tools during the operation was also noted.

To improve the effectiveness of incident response in practice, the leaders of Ninh Binh Power Company Limited requested that units seriously learn from the drill and promptly overcome the limitations that have been pointed out. At the same time, units need to proactively supplement and complete plans, be ready to respond and handle possible situations well, in order to minimize damage, ensure safe and continuous power supply, and contribute to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the province.
