According to Mr. Mai Van Khiem, Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, since the beginning of the year, many areas such as Viet Bac, the Northern Delta, the North Central - Central Central and the South have recorded rainfall 15-30% higher than the average of many years, in some places exceeding 80%. In Bai Thuong ( Thanh Hoa ), rainfall has reached 638mm, while the average of many years is only about 416mm.

The flow to large lakes such as Son La, Hoa Binh , and Tuyen Quang is increasing sharply, forcing the lakes to release water right from the beginning of the season.

This year, heavy rains will continue to appear from June to August in the North, North Central, Central Highlands and South; the Central region will see increased rain in the last months of the year.
