The Council is established by the Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, based on the provisions of Clause 4, Article 55, Law on Cultural Heritage 2001. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposes a leader of the Hue City People's Committee to be the Chairman of the Council; the remaining members are proposed by the locality.
In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism sent 3 experts to the Council, including: Mr. Pham Dinh Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage; Dr. Nguyen Van Doan, Director of the National Museum of History, member of the National Cultural Heritage Council; Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Thom, Head of the Preservation Department, National Museum of History.
The Scientific Council is responsible for assessing the extent of damage to the treasure, analyzing the cause and proposing appropriate restoration solutions. At the same time, the Council will also make recommendations on long-term preservation solutions, ensuring the sustainability and historical-cultural value of the artifact.
After the restoration plan is approved, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center will carry out the restoration with the participation of artisans, under the close supervision of the Council.
