Expanding the North-South Expressway in the East, La Son

Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh; Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hue City Le Truong Luu; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh requested investors, supervision consultants, design consultants and construction contractors to promote the highest sense of responsibility, develop scientific construction plans and methods, suitable to actual conditions, ensure construction progress, quality, safety, and environmental sanitation; strictly comply with the technical requirements of the project and relevant legal regulations, and prevent corruption, negativity and waste.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong affirmed that this is a project of special significance, welcoming the Party Congresses at all levels, an important political event of the country; demonstrating the determination of the Party, State and Ministry of Construction in building and completing modern and synchronous transport infrastructure, contributing to promoting socio-economic development of the two localities in particular and the whole country in general.

Together with Hai Van tunnel, La Son - Hoa Lien route after completion will have more options for vehicles traveling on the North - South axis, breaking the monopoly, dividing along the North - South axis through National Highway 1A, ensuring convenient, smooth and safe traffic; promoting trade between economic regions, creating favorable conditions for sustainable development.

The North-South Expressway expansion project in the East, La Son (Hue City) - Hoa Lien (Da Nang) section, has a total length of about 65 km, passing through Phu Loc district, Hue city and Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city, with the starting point (La Son) at Km 0, connecting to the end point of the Cam Lo - La Son expressway, located in La Son town, Phu Loc district, and the end point (Hoa Lien) at about Km 66, Hoa Lien intersection connecting to the starting point of the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan route, located in Hoa Lien commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city. The project has a total investment of about 3,010 billion VND, using the State budget.

Construction will start in May 2025 and be basically completed in 2025. The investment in expanding the North-South expressway in the East, La Son - Hoa Lien section, aims to implement Resolution No. 66/2013/QH13 dated November 29, 2013 and Resolution No. 63/2022/QH15 dated June 16, 2022 of the National Assembly; gradually complete the traffic infrastructure according to the planning, ensuring synchronization and modernity; improve exploitation capacity, minimize traffic accidents to promote the role of the North-South expressway in the East in connecting localities, ensuring national defense and security in the region and the whole country.
