TPO - At the age of 55, actor Xuan Tung chooses a peaceful life, rarely participating in artistic activities. The actor of "Please believe me" is now much different in the memories and imagination of the audience.

Actor Xuan Tung is known to the audience through the role of “Old Pig” in the movie Please Believe Me. In the movie 27 years ago, Xuan Tung played Tru – the lover of Tham (played by Hoa Thuy), who looks clumsy and rough but is kind and sincere in love. For many years, Xuan Tung has been absent from the screen. He shared that he left the professional working environment – ​​Tuoi Tre Theater since 2008.

The actor admitted that in his roles on the small screen, "Old Pig" is quite similar to his real-life personality: "Old Pig and I are half the same in personality. He is a bit silly and content with his lot, but I am only similar in my silly side." If given the chance to act again, the actor would still want to keep his silly side but make "Old Pig" more ambitious, he shared in the show Confession.

The door to art opened for him by chance. Xuan Tung studied mechanics but worked in the service department of the Youth Theater. When the theater had an audition, he and his friends took the exam and surprisingly passed. He was overwhelmed because at that time he did not know what a skit was and had no one to guide him. After that, he studied seriously and started from the smallest steps.

In 2008, Xuan Tung left the Youth Theatre. He was afraid of falling into a rut because it was a difficult period for the stage, and his life had many twists and turns. “I think the most dangerous thing in acting is going on a smooth road that makes you ‘sleepy’, I’m afraid of that” – the 55-year-old actor said.

At that time, he was tormented and jokingly said, "I didn't dare go in when I passed by the theater because I missed it so much." However, the actor did not regret that decision: "I knew that going in there would make me feel sad. That was a long period of my life, my whole vibrant youth. I decided that if I left, I had to live well."

Conquering the stage, Xuan Tung entered the film industry with roles in the films: Please believe me, Marriage without marriage, Underground circuit of the border, Hanoi 12 days and nights...

Having not appeared in public for a long time, Xuan Tung is now very different in the audience's memories and imagination. The actor shared: "Life is like that, everyone changes, maybe they are surprised because they haven't seen me for a long time. When I used to work, I wanted to be thin, before I weighed over 80 kg, now I weigh 71 kg. I don't diet and my health is completely fine."

Currently, the actor teaches art but does not act in long-term films or work as hard as before because his health cannot handle it. Recently, Xuan Tung participated in the play Truong Ba's Soul in the Butcher's Body with Huong Thuy, Kim Oanh, Chieu Xuan... which was positively received by the audience after four months of hard training. "I really like it because it's been a long time since I've been able to do my job properly, but it's really tiring" - Xuan Tung said.
