The University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University) has announced its enrollment plan for 2025. This is the first school under Ho Chi Minh City National University to announce its enrollment plan.
The notable new point is that the school uses 4 groups of subjects for admission applicable to all majors/specializations, all admission methods, including: Math - English - Literature, Math - English - Physics, Math - English - Informatics, Math - English - Economic and Legal Education.
Thus, in the 2 new combinations, the school uses 2 new subjects of the 2018 General Education Program: Information Technology and Economic and Legal Education.
According to information from the school, the 2025 enrollment plan is designed to select excellent candidates, ensuring input quality that is suitable for the school's training requirements and meets the strict demands of the labor market.
The school plans to announce the detailed 2025 Enrollment Plan before February 2025. In case the Ministry of Education and Training and Ho Chi Minh City National University issue new enrollment regulations, the school will update and adjust the enrollment plan in accordance with current regulations.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has also just announced important changes in the planned enrollment plan for 2025. In particular, the school will adjust the admission combination to match the high school graduation exam subjects, while maintaining the admission combinations of 2024.
The school will adjust the combinations that are no longer suitable, such as eliminating combinations with exams in Natural Sciences , Social Sciences, etc. and adding new combinations with subjects in Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, and Technology.
Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade plans to have many changes in the subject combinations for admission for the 2025 admission season. New majors will have additional admission combinations in group C, such as the combination: C00 (Literature, History, Geography), C03 (Literature, Mathematics, History), C14 (Math, Literature, Economic and Legal Education).
According to the school, choosing a variety of admission subject combinations will help candidates be more flexible in the process of registering for the school, especially for candidates who want to pursue language majors or have a tendency towards group C. This not only opens up more opportunities for candidates but also helps the school select students with the ability and background suitable for each major.

According to Dr. Le Viet Khuyen, former Vice President of the Association of Vietnamese Universities and Colleges, the Ministry of Education and Training needs to have regulations to avoid the situation where schools "let a hundred flowers bloom"; unify reasonable admission combinations, and resolutely eliminate strange combinations.
In 2025, the first batch of candidates studying under the 2018 General Education Program will take the high school graduation exam.
According to regulations, candidates must take 2 compulsory subjects, including: Literature, Math and 2 elective subjects from the remaining subjects studied in grade 12, including: Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology.
Thus, from 2025, candidates can choose elective subjects without following the combination of Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education) as before.
Notably, the subjects of Information Technology, Technology, Economic Education and Law are included for the first time as elective subjects in the high school graduation exam.
With the number of subjects and selection methods as above, there are up to 36 ways to choose subjects for the high school graduation exam from 2025.
