This morning, January 31, a delegation of the People's Council of Salavan province (Laos) led by the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association of Khan-xay Rat-tha-hau province visited and congratulated the officials and people of Quang Tri province on the occasion of the traditional New Year of the Vietnamese people. On behalf of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Salavan province, Vice Chairman of the Salavan Provincial People's Council Khan-xay Rat-tha-hau wished the officials and people of Quang Tri province a joyful, warm and happy new year; and wished Quang Tri province to become more civilized, prosperous and beautiful.

Mr. Khan-xay Rat-tha-hau also briefly introduced the outstanding results in various fields of Salavan province. He affirmed that these results were achieved with the active support, cooperation and assistance of Quang Tri province.

Salavan province hopes to continue to receive more attention and support from Quang Tri province; further promote cooperation in many fields with Quang Tri province so that the two provinces can develop further, contributing to tightening the special friendship between Laos and Vietnam in general, and Salavan and Quang Tri provinces in particular.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Tran Huy expressed his joy at welcoming the delegation of the Salavan Provincial People's Council to visit and extend New Year greetings. He wished Vice Chairman of the Salavan Provincial People's Council Khan-xay Rat-tha-hau and the members of the delegation good health, happiness and success in the New Year.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Tran Huy emphasized: The Party Committee, government, army and people of Quang Tri province always deeply understand that the achievements of the province bear the mark of the valuable sharing and cooperation of the Lao provinces, including Salavan province.

To continue to coordinate and effectively implement the contents agreed upon by the leaders of Quang Tri and Salavan provinces, Vice Chairman of the Salavan Provincial People's Council Khan-xay Rat-tha-hau is requested to direct the departments, branches and sectors of the province to promote the effective implementation of the contents of the cooperation agreement between the two provinces for the period 2023-2025. Salavan Province recommends that the Lao Government soon issue a document approving the project, carry out investment procedures for the conveyor belt to transport coal from Laos to Vietnam through La Lay International Border Gate so that the project can be implemented soon; promote trade connections, form a supply chain, promote trade, investment and tourism activities... Thereby, contributing to the development of friendship and cooperation between the two provinces of Quang Tri - Salavan, and the two countries of Vietnam - Laos.
