Vietnam General Confederation of Labor supports 500 million VND for union members and workers affected by storm No. 13

On the afternoon of November 15, at Thai Thinh Interior Decoration Production Company Limited (Xuan Loc commune), the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) coordinated with the Provincial Labor Federation to organize a program to provide support to union members and workers affected by storm No. 13.

Attending the program were comrades: Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Nguyen Ngoc Huyen, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Confederation of Labor, along with representatives of departments, branches, leaders of Thai Thinh Interior Decoration Production Company Limited, Executive Board of the grassroots Trade Union, union members and workers.

Comrade Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, spoke at the program.

At the program, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor decided to support 500 million VND for union members and employees affected by the storm. Of which, 85 union members and employees of Thai Thinh Interior Decoration Production Company Limited received support with a total cost of 170 million VND.

Speaking at the program, comrade Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, expressed his deep sympathy for the damage caused by storm No. 13 to the people and workers of the province.

He emphasized: “As an organization representing, protecting and caring for the rights of union members and workers, we would like to share the difficulties and hardships that our workers are going through. On behalf of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, I respectfully send to union members and workers in the province the sentiments and sharing of union officials and members across the country.”

Comrade Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, presented a support symbol of 500 million VND to union members and workers in the province affected by storm No. 13.

Comrade Thai Thu Xuong affirmed that the gifts demonstrate the responsibility and heart of the Trade Union organization, wishing to contribute to helping union members and workers overcome difficulties, soon stabilize their lives and restore production after the storm.

He also affirmed: “Wherever there are union members and workers facing difficulties, there is the Trade Union. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor always accompanies and will continue to accompany workers so that they can soon stabilize their lives and work with peace of mind.”

The Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requested the Provincial Confederation of Labor to continue to closely follow the grassroots, grasp the situation of losses of union members and workers to proactively use the province's trade union financial resources, coordinate with the support resources of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to deploy timely, public, transparent and targeted relief.

Leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Provincial Confederation of Labor presented gifts to support union members and workers.

The gifts given not only have material value but are also a great source of spiritual encouragement, helping union members and workers quickly overcome difficulties after natural disasters, and continue to stick with the business and the Trade Union organization.
