Delegation of National Defense Academy conducts practical research at Hai Phong City Military Command

The delegation included Major General Tran Hung Cuong, Director of the Department of Training and Education, National Defense Academy; representatives of the commanders of a number of functional agencies and units of the Academy and officers and students of the 53rd Campaign and Strategy Command and Staff Course.

During the working period, the delegation of officers and students of the National Defense Academy visited and studied typical models of national defense and security in the city. The delegation and the Hai Phong City Military Command held a seminar to exchange experiences and models of building a local national defense and security foundation in Hai Phong.

The focus is on exchanging on leadership, direction and implementation of the Party and State's policies and guidelines on socio -economic development combined with building local defense and security potential; education and training on national defense and security (NDS) knowledge for the subjects; results and experiences in building defense zone potential; building strong local armed forces; building a strong national defense posture associated with a strong people's security posture...

At the seminar, Colonel Vuong Van Yen, Deputy Commander of the Hai Phong City Military Command, reported on the results of socio-economic development and implementation of local defense and security tasks of the city in recent years and the first 4 months of 2025. Accordingly, in order to effectively implement Resolution No. 28 dated September 22, 2008 of the Politburo on continuing to build provinces and centrally-run cities into strong defense zones in the new situation and the resolutions of the 11th and 13th Party Central Committees on the Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation..., the Hai Phong City Military Party Committee has issued resolutions and plans on directing the implementation of defense and security tasks.

On that basis, agencies and units thoroughly grasp, develop action plans and programs, determine policies and measures for implementation. Notable results are: The city has allocated investment funds of more than 500 billion VND to build military formation components according to Resolution No. 21/2019/ND-CP of the Government on defense zones; organized training on national defense and security knowledge for more than 11,000 people; closely combined economic development with national defense and security, especially on sea and island routes; built a widespread reserve force, militia and self-defense forces; focused on propaganda and education on military and defense tasks...

The opinions exchanged and shared at the seminar clarified experiences and measures to organize the implementation of the task of building a national defense foundation associated with the people's security posture; the establishment of self-defense units with 100% foreign investment capital; the appraisal of planning, construction of defense zones, combat bases; the work of building political and spiritual potential, social security policies; the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army; solving jobs for demobilized soldiers; the work of managing national defense land...

On this occasion, the delegation of the National Defense Academy visited, learned and researched the history of Vietnamese military art, and paid tribute to the heroic martyrs at K15 Wharf and the Bach Dang Giang historical relic site. At the same time, 20 gifts were presented to outstanding students in the city with difficult circumstances who have excelled in their studies; 10 gifts were presented to soldiers working at the city's Military Command with difficult circumstances.
