The delegation of the Ethnic Committee worked in Nghe An on the National Target Program 1719

On the morning of August 29, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long chaired a working session with the delegation of the Ethnic Committee led by Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman Y Vinh Tor on the implementation of the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021 - 2030.

Overview of the working session.

The National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period, abbreviated as National Target Program 1719, is divided into two phases: 2021-2025 and 2026-2030.

Deputy Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee Luong Van Khanh reported on the implementation results of a number of ethnic policies of the province.

In phase 1, the National Target Program 1719 in Nghe An has achieved many important results with a total capital plan of nearly 5,800 billion VND. On the basis of implementing the program's content including 10 projects, 14 sub-projects and 36 components, the picture of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the province is changing for the better. Especially the investment and support contents directly related to the people such as support for residential land, housing, job conversion, centralized and dispersed domestic water under project 1; Ethnic knowledge training, vocational training, capacity building for the community under project 5; Gender equality policy under project 8; Policy to reduce child marriage and incestuous marriage under sub-project 2 of project 9....

Chief of the National Target Program Coordination Office Ha Viet Quan spoke at the meeting.

Besides the achieved results, the National Target Program 1719 in the area also has shortcomings. In which, the progress of implementing Projects and Sub-projects is still slow; the disbursement rate of capital is still low, especially career capital.

Based on the actual implementation, at the working session, members of the working delegation and provincial departments also focused on analyzing, evaluating, and finding solutions. Especially emerging issues that both the Central and local governments are concerned about.

It is now almost the end of the third quarter of 2024, and the fiscal year of Phase I of the National Target Program 1719 is more than a year away, so it is determined that the removal of difficulties is timely, especially solutions to increase the ability to disburse capital. Thereby, creating momentum to continue implementing Phase II of the National Target Program 1719, from 2026 - 2030.
