The province has a total road length of over 8,134 km, and a total inland waterway length of about 285 km. Regarding expressways, the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway connects with the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, 40 km long; the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway is under construction.

In the past time, the Department of Transport has paid attention to the leadership and direction of ensuring traffic safety and order. The Provincial Traffic Safety Committee has consulted with the provincial Party Committee, government, and mass organizations to fully and promptly develop programs and plans to implement directives and resolutions of the Central Party Secretariat, the Government, the Prime Minister, the National Traffic Safety Committee, etc. on ensuring order and safety of road and waterway traffic.

At the same time, promote propaganda and dissemination of legal education on traffic safety and order, thereby gradually raising awareness of law compliance on traffic safety and order among cadres, party members, civil servants and people.

As the core force ensuring traffic safety and order, units under the Provincial Police have regularly increased patrols, coordinated with functional forces to maintain traffic safety and order in the province; regularly made recommendations to the Traffic Safety Committees at all levels to handle many black spots and traffic accident risk points in the province.

Traffic accidents in the province from 2009 to 2023 have been basically controlled in all three criteria (number of cases, number of deaths and number of injuries). The authorities have detected and handled 644,808 cases of road traffic safety violations, collected over 261 billion VND to the State budget, detained over 6,243 vehicles, and handled 56 black spots.

At the meeting, the two units also made proposals and recommendations such as prioritizing the mobilization of resources to invest in the construction of new traffic infrastructure systems, continuing to create all resources to implement the project of concrete rural roads and bridges on rural roads. Simplifying procedures for handling, liquidating, and auctioning confiscated and temporarily detained vehicles violating traffic safety order, avoiding waste of assets.

At the same time, handle black spots with potential traffic accident risks; clear and compensate road corridors on national highways passing through the province.

Leaders of the Department of Transport made recommendations and proposals at the meeting.

Speaking at the conclusion of the supervision session, comrade Ma Thi Thuy, Deputy Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, requested relevant agencies and member units of the Traffic Safety Committee at all levels to continue directing the implementation of directives and resolutions of the Central Government and the province to strengthen the work of ensuring traffic safety and order in the new situation; continue to promote the work of propaganda, dissemination and education of laws on traffic safety and order.

At the same time, raise awareness and consciousness for people in complying with legal policies on ensuring traffic safety and order... strengthen inspection and control work to ensure traffic safety and order. The monitoring delegation also recorded the reflections and recommendations of the delegates attending the working session to study and make specific recommendations to the National Assembly, the Government and relevant ministries and branches for consideration and resolution according to their authority.
