Also participating in the working delegation were leaders representing the City People's Council Committees, a number of departments, branches, districts and towns of the city.
* Working with the leaders of the Capital Prague, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha thanked the Czech Republic for its affection and support for Vietnam both in the past cause of national construction and defense as well as in the current cause of national renewal and development.
Comrade Phung Thi Hong Ha expressed her belief that the traditional friendship between the two countries and the two capitals will continue to develop, and at the same time requested the Prague city government to continue to pay attention to creating favorable conditions and supporting the Vietnamese community to live, work, develop and integrate better with the host country.
At the meeting, Mayor of Prague Bohuslav Svoboda highly appreciated the role, development and increasingly deep integration of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic in general, especially in the capital Prague in particular, and said that this is the largest foreign community in Prague.
According to Mr. Svoboda, the Vietnamese community has a spirit of solidarity, modesty, diligence, hard work and has fully integrated into the host country.
Mr. Svoboda emphasized the role of the Vietnamese community in actively contributing to the increasingly close relationship between the Czech Republic and Vietnam in general, as well as between the two capitals of Prague and Hanoi in particular.
The Mayor also expressed his belief that the working trip of the Hanoi delegation will help further strengthen the traditional friendship between the two countries and the two capitals, affirming that Vietnam will always be a good friend of the country and people of the Czech Republic.
* The delegation also had a working session with Mr. Vojtech Filip, former Vice President of the Czech Republic's House of Representatives and representative of the South Morava Regional Council.
Mr. Vojtech Filip shared his deep feelings and personal impressions about the country and people of Vietnam, especially the capital Hanoi, and expressed his belief that the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic will be further strengthened and developed.
He also informed about the strengths of the South Morava region, and suggested that Hanoi city study the possibility of cooperation with the South Morava region in providing glass bottle production lines, environmental sanitation technology, water filtration and the medical and health care fields, especially providing hospital bed equipment for Hanoi's medical facilities.
* Working with representatives of Skoda Auto Group, the delegation informed about the city's mechanisms and policies, architectural planning and infrastructure and traffic development projects of the capital, such as elevated railway and subway projects.
Skoda Auto representatives expressed interest and expectations in the potential for cooperation with Hanoi, especially in the group's strengths related to the ability to provide transportation technology, public passenger transport in urban areas and connections with neighboring areas.
* In the city of Cheb, one of the localities in the Czech Republic with a large Vietnamese community living and working, the delegation had a working session with the city government leaders, with Deputy Mayors Michal Pospisil and Pavel Pagac receiving the delegation.
The leaders of Cheb city government introduced to the delegation the political system, socio-economic development policies and the operating mechanism of the local government. The two sides also discussed the possibility of promoting and enhancing cooperation as well as exchanging experiences between the two cities, focusing on the most practical areas of mutual interest, such as: employment opportunities, attracting human resources, developing culture, education and preserving traditional values.
The local government also acknowledged and appreciated the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community in Cheb to the city's development, and affirmed that it will continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate more deeply and develop more sustainably with the host country.
* Attending the seminar on Vietnamese enterprises in the Czech Republic organized by the Vietnamese Embassy, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha informed the Vietnamese business community in the Czech Republic about the political, economic and social situation of Hanoi, notably the National Assembly's approval of the amended Law on the Capital, along with reforms in mechanisms and policies to encourage business development as well as increase investment attraction in Hanoi.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council was pleased to announce that in 2024, Hanoi achieved a total budget revenue of VND511,928 billion, becoming the locality with the highest budget revenue in the country for the first time. He emphasized that Hanoi can provide many opportunities, investment and cooperation fields and is always ready to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises in the Czech Republic, especially promoting the introduction of Hanoi's typical products, especially handicrafts, agricultural specialties, valuable cereals, etc. to the Czech Republic and European Union (EU) markets.
Representatives of the Vietnamese business community in the Czech Republic expressed their joy at the socio-economic achievements of the capital, believed in the city's mechanisms and policies to encourage and attract investment, and affirmed that they will continue to actively strengthen cooperation and investment to contribute to the common development of Hanoi as well as the homeland.
At the seminar, leaders of Hanoi city and the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic agreed to coordinate with the Vietnamese business community in the Czech Republic to add a booth displaying Hanoi's specialty cereals at the Asian food fair in Prague in the near future.
Also within the framework of the working trip, the delegation had meetings with representatives of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic, visited Sa Pa Trade Center in Prague and Asia Dragon Bazar in Cheb city.
