Responding to the movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" launched by the Prime Minister, Doan Hung district has been speeding up the construction and repair of houses for people with revolutionary contributions, poor and near-poor households in the area with the highest determination, contributing to ensuring social security and improving people's lives.

Chairman of the District People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Doan Hung District, Nguyen Van Van, said: Determining that joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is a special political task, at the same time a major policy with profound significance in ensuring social security, creating a driving force for economic development, contributing to improving the quality of people's lives. Doan Hung District has stepped up propaganda on poverty reduction in general, the plan to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for supported households; mobilized the participation of the entire political system, the business community and all classes of people; conducted a thorough review to "eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" to ensure the right people, the right circumstances, and no omissions...

The district has screened over 500 households with temporary and dilapidated houses in need of repair, renovation, and new construction with a total budget of over 24 billion VND. By the end of December 2025, the district strives to complete 100% of approved houses, helping poor and near-poor households and people with revolutionary contributions to improve their housing, improve their lives, promote economic development, sustainably reduce poverty, and build new rural areas.

The family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi To is a near-poor household in Zone 1, Yen Kien Commune, and is one of the households that have just started building a new house under the support program for the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses. Previously, Mrs. To and her children lived in a wooden house of about 40 square meters that was dilapidated, dilapidated, and unsafe. On the groundbreaking day, Mrs. To was moved because without the support of the State according to the policy of renovating houses with the amount of 60 million VND along with the help of local authorities, relatives; labor days, and materials from neighbors, she did not know when her family would have a safe and spacious house. The house was built with an area of ​​80 square meters with a budget of about 270 million VND. Through screening, in Yen Kien Commune, there are currently 21 households in need of support for the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses, of which 09 households registered for repair and 12 households registered to build new houses.

Like Mrs. To's family, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Bich Dao's family in Zone 4, Ngoc Quan Commune is a poor household, currently living in a dilapidated house that does not ensure safety, especially during the rainy season. With the support from the superiors' fund and the support fund from the Agribank Trade Union, Phu Tho II Branch, the support of brothers and sisters in the family and the working days of union members, members of mass organizations, neighbors, the house has started construction with an area of ​​about 60m2, estimated cost of 160 million VND. This is also the project to kick off the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Ngoc Quan Commune in 2025, including a total of 10 houses according to the program, with 8 newly built houses and 2 repaired houses.

The groundbreaking ceremony to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses not only has the meaning of material support but also is a deeply humane act, demonstrating the responsibility of the entire political system and the spirit of solidarity of the whole society, helping the supported households to be excited by the attention of the Party and the State, and to feel secure in working and producing. To complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025, localities in the district are resolutely implementing synchronous solutions, promoting the responsibility of leaders, strengthening coordination, assigning tasks, mobilizing the active participation of the whole community, including businesses and individuals; at the same time, closely monitoring to ensure the use of resources for the program is effective, transparent, and ensures that the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses reaches the right beneficiaries.
