Economic-Defense Group 74 donated 25 breeding cows to ethnic minority households.

(GLO)- On the morning of October 17, in Ia Chia commune (Gia Lai province), Economic-Defense Group 74 (Army Corps 15) organized a ceremony to hand over breeding cows to households under Project 3 - Sub-project 3 "Socio-economic development of the army model associated with the local people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas".

During this period, Economic -Defense Group 74 coordinated with the authorities of Ia Chia and Ia Dok communes to select 25 eligible households to participate in the breeding cow model.

Each household was supported with a breeding cow worth 16.8 million VND, along with materials for building a barn and medicine for disease prevention. The total cost of the program was more than 467 million VND from the state budget and 50 million VND in counterpart funds.

Before handing over, Economic-Defense Group 74 organized training on livestock raising techniques, instructing people on how to care for and prevent diseases for cows. People participating in the project committed to following the correct technical procedures, not arbitrarily selling or slaughtering breeding cows, and preserving the support capital.

Since 2022, Economic-Defense Group 74 has handed over 100 breeding cows to the people. During the breeding process, the herd of cows has grown and developed well, of which 23 have given birth, helping many households gradually escape poverty sustainably.
