As of September 25, the Vietnamese sports delegation won 1 silver medal, 5 bronze medals, ranking 14th out of 45 countries participating in ASIAD 19 in Hangzhou (China). If they win the gold medal, the ranking of the Vietnamese sports delegation will certainly be greatly improved.

On today's competition day (September 26), the Vietnamese sports delegation competed in 11 events, with high hopes of winning the "first" gold medal in events such as shooting and martial arts.

In shooting, after winning silver medal, shooter Ngo Huu Vuong, Nguyen Cong Dau and Nguyen Tuan Anh will compete in the men's 10m individual mixed air rifle event.

In addition to individual achievements, high scores from shooters will also open up opportunities to compete for medals when calculating points in the men's 10m mixed team air rifle event.

On September 25, the three shooters were only 1 point behind the gold medalist team, Korea, in the men’s 10m air rifle event. Hopefully, after learning these lessons, the Vietnamese athletes will compete with the highest level of courage and confidence.

In addition to the 10m mixed individual and team events for men, the Vietnamese shooting team also competed in the 25m individual and team events for women with Nguyen Thi Huong, Nguyen Thuy Trang and Trinh Thu Vinh.

In swimming, Vietnamese athletes compete in 5 events, in which the biggest hope belongs to Nguyen Huy Hoang in his specialty event, the men's 1,500m freestyle.

For fencing, two fencers Nguyen Phuoc Den and Nguyen Tien Nhat will compete in the men's individual sabre event. Taekwondo will have three combat events: 63kg for men, 57kg for women and 53kg for women.

Another martial art is wushu which takes place in men's and women's boxing and 2 weight classes (52kg women and 56kg men).

Gymnastics has only one final event, the men's all-around event, of Pham Phuoc Hieu (younger brother of famous former athlete Pham Phuoc Hung).

In addition, the Vietnamese sports delegation also competed in chess, tennis, and judo esports in qualifying rounds or quarterfinals.
