Early in the morning, when the sun had not yet risen and the night mist still covered the area, artists and actors of the Art Troupe, along with thousands of officers, soldiers and actors from agencies and units throughout the army, were present to practice the artistic formation in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and reunification of the country. Determining that this was an honor and an important political task, everyone raised their sense of responsibility and entered the practice session with the highest determination.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army visited, inspected and encouraged artists and actors of the Art Troupe of Military Region 3 to perform their tasks in the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

Lieutenant Colonel QNCN, Meritorious Artist Nong Thi Minh Hang, Deputy Captain of the Dance Team, Military Region 3 Art Troupe said: “To keep up with the schedule, every day, we wake up before 5am to prepare costumes, props and start practicing. It is not until nearly 9pm that the officers, artists and actors arrive at the resting place. During the practice period in the South, we rest in Binh Duong province but practice together in Ho Chi Minh City. To avoid traffic jams, the officers and actors often have to wake up early. After a day of practice, everyone is tired, but we always receive the attention and encouragement of the Party Committee, the Military Region Command, and the Military Region Political Department. Therefore, the officers and actors all clearly identify their responsibilities and are determined to complete their tasks well.”

At the art program in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, the artists and actors of the Military Region 3 Art Troupe were assigned to perform flower dances and trumpet dances, with the content recreating the historical period when our army and people fought bravely to liberate the South and unify the country. This is a comprehensive art program, requiring high artistry combined with trumpet command movements and meticulous, close coordination between the artists and actors to create a block.

The Head of the Political Department and the Logistics and Technical Department of Military Region 3 visited and encouraged artists and actors of the Military Region 3 Art Troupe performing their duties in Ho Chi Minh City.

Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Thi Dung, Dancer, Military Region 3 Art Troupe, said: “Each performance and segment in the program has the participation of many artists and actors with many different types of props and costumes. Each actor in each segment performs many movements, requiring both practice and artistic expertise. I often practice with my teammates in the evening, record videos to self-evaluate and review my limitations, then ask my teammates and experienced artists and actors to correct and give advice, then practice to overcome them.”

In addition to the high requirements for coordination, cooperation, and the need for comprehensive artistic and military skills, outdoor training is also a huge challenge for artists and actors. Currently, the outdoor temperature is very high, sometimes reaching 37 degrees Celsius. Artists and actors must practice outdoors at high intensity, with many movements that consume a lot of energy. Each artist and actor must make many times more effort than usual.

Not only overcoming the difficulties caused by the weather, many actors of the Art Troupe also proactively arranged family work to focus on practicing. Captain Ngo Thuy An, Dancer, Art Troupe of Military Region 3 said: “When we left for practice, my son was sick. Although I was very worried, I proactively asked my parents and relatives to help look after my son, so I felt somewhat reassured. My husband and I, as well as the officers and actors of the Art Troupe, all realized that participating in the performance at the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South was both a duty and an honor and pride. Therefore, we all tried our best and were determined.”

Artists and actors of the Military Region 3 Art Troupe perform in the State-level rehearsal of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification on April 25.

During these days, the Art Troupe of Military Region 3 has been carrying out many intertwined tasks such as preparing for art programs to welcome the Congress of the Party Committee of the Political Department, the Congress of the Party Committee of Military Region 3 and towards the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Military Region 3. The troupe has to develop a large number of scripts to seek opinions from the Head of the Military Region 3 Command and the Head of the Political Department. Despite the large amount of work, the commander of the Art Troupe of Military Region and all cadres, artists and actors have clearly identified their responsibilities and strived to complete all assigned tasks.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thach, Political Commissar of the Art Troupe of Military Region 3, said: “We have determined that performing art in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification is an important political task, an honor and a trust from superiors for the unit. The Party Committee and the troupe have assigned responsible officers, regularly cared for and encouraged artists and actors to overcome difficulties and create art. Up to now, in the preliminary and final rehearsals, the artists and actors of the troupe have all completed their tasks well, coordinated smoothly, and performed correctly according to the script of the program director.”
