Dong Nai Hydropower Company conducts comprehensive safety inspection of reservoir

This activity is part of a series of regular efforts to coordinate with localities in ensuring construction safety, effective resource management and preventing violations in the exploitation of aquatic products and minerals on the lake bed (at least 04 times/year).

Realizing that the responsibility for managing and protecting the safety of dams and reservoirs is closely linked to ensuring national energy security and sustainable regional development, Dong Nai Hydropower Company has proactively invited agencies such as the Department of Economic Security (PA04), Internal Security (PA02), and the People's Committees of related communes in Bao Lam, Di Linh, Lam Ha districts (Lam Dong) and Dak Glong (Dak Nong) to join the interdisciplinary inspection team.

The inspection program focuses on three main contents: Checking the current status of activities and illegal encroachment on the reservoir bed (if any); Monitoring the activities of organizations and individuals licensed to exploit on the reservoir bed; Evaluating the work of protecting the reservoir safety corridor and handling violations in previous inspections; Installing propaganda signs to inform people around the reservoir about the safety corridor of the Hydropower reservoir.

This is an annual activity of special importance to improve the effectiveness of lake resource management, ensure absolute safety for hydropower projects, and contribute to preventing, detecting and promptly handling acts of encroachment and illegal exploitation that affect the environment, water flow and lives of people around the lake.

With the geographical characteristics spanning two provinces, many communes are adjacent to the reservoir, the coordination between the Company and the authorities at all levels and local functional forces is always the top priority of the Company. Organizing periodic inspections with the participation of relevant units not only helps to improve transparency and objectivity in supervision but also creates consensus and join hands to protect resources and important technical infrastructure.
