Seized more than 1.2 tons of food produced outside Vietnam and of unknown origin - Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station

- On the morning of May 23, Market Management Team No. 7 (in charge of Van Lang and Trang Dinh districts) under the Market Management Department of Lang Son province coordinated with the Economic Police Department, Lang Son Provincial Police and the Inspection Team for anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods of Lang Son province (Team 389 of the province) to inspect a business household in Coc Nam village, Tan My commune , Van Lang district . Through the inspection, the authorities discovered and seized more than 1.2 tons of various foods produced outside of Vietnam and foods of unknown origin.

Authorities discovered many types of prepackaged foods with information written in foreign languages ​​being sold at a business household in Coc Nam village, Tan My commune.

Specifically, through professional work, Market Management Team No. 7 coordinated with PC03 Department, Lang Son Provincial Police and Team 389 of the province to inspect the compliance with the law in the production and trading of goods and services for the business household Tran Tien Tuan (address No. 8 Coc Nam village, Tan My commune, Van Lang district). Through the inspection, the Market Management force and the police discovered and seized 1,232 kg of food products produced outside Vietnam and goods of unknown origin.

Among them, it was discovered that Tran Tien Tuan's business was selling 549.5 kg of sausages and 280 kg of other foods (chili powder, dumplings, tofu) all pre-packaged with information written in foreign languages; more than 400 kg of frozen livestock and poultry foods (pig intestines, pig brains, pig jaws, young chicken eggs, chicken feet, chicken wings, beef belly). The total value of the goods was more than 62 million VND.

Authorities discovered many types of frozen livestock and poultry food of unknown origin being sold at Tran Tien Tuan business household.

At the time of inspection, Mr. Tran Tien Tuan, representative of Tran Tien Tuan Business Household, could not present invoices, documents or any other papers related to the legal import origin or origin of the above food products.

Currently, the authorities have temporarily detained all of the above food to continue investigating and clarifying according to regulations.
