On August 22-23, the Trade Promotion Agency coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City and the social networking platform TikTok to organize a "Training course on business skills on digital platforms to develop brands and build images for businesses and cooperatives".
Mr. Le Hoang Tai - Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Department - informed that in recent times, the economy of the Mekong Delta has grown strongly, the quality of growth has been improved with the proportion of industry and services increasing rapidly, affirming its position as the leading center for production and export of rice and fruits in the country.
Therefore, the Trade Promotion Agency in collaboration with TikTok, Alibaba.com, OSB, and reputable sellers on TikTok Shop organized a training program to promote regional linkages in the Mekong Delta and apply science and technology to improve production and business capacity in a circular direction, towards a green and sustainable economy.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nha - Minh Duc Thanh Trading Company Limited (Cocana), Can Tho City - shared that up to now, his business has mainly sold products on traditional channels. However, realizing the high potential for selling on TikTok, he was very eager to participate in this training course. He wants to learn and develop instant dried fish products on TikTok, in order to reach the market and sell more products.

Similarly, Mr. Tran Dang Nghiem (Can Tho City) is also in the process of starting a business on the TikTok Shop platform, with rice paintings and handicrafts made from rice. However, he is also facing some difficulties at first.
"Currently, there are many individuals and businesses that have been very successful in doing business on digital platforms. I want to learn about policies, skills, video making techniques, trending keywords, shipping methods, affiliate marketing with content creators... to be able to seize opportunities to help the brand grow and spread," Nghiem expressed.
Mr. Ha Vu Son - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City - commented that this is a particularly meaningful activity for businesses in Can Tho in particular and the Mekong Delta in general at present and is an inevitable trend in the coming time.
“I really hope that with the experience of TikTok Shop, experts… will exchange so that many businesses can gain skills, build their own image and brand. In particular, through that, I hope to achieve the most important goal of reducing costs for businesses and increasing business efficiency,” Mr. Son emphasized.
