Estimated retail sales of goods in September reached 3,481.83 billion VND

(sonla.gov.vn) In September, trade and tourism promotion activities were promoted; many festivals and large-scale cultural and sports events were organized, contributing to boosting the consumption of goods, promoting OCOP products and local specialties.

The trade, service and transport situation in September and the first 9 months of 2025 in Son La province continued to maintain positive growth momentum. Sectors and localities have paid attention to promoting propaganda, advertising and trade and tourism promotion. Many festivals, cultural, sports and tourism events at the provincial and district levels were successfully organized, attracting a large number of tourists, thereby contributing to promoting the consumption of agricultural products, OCOP products and local specialties.

Total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue in the first nine months of 2025 is estimated at VND 39,098.78 billion, up 13.84% over the same period last year.

Retail sales of goods in September are estimated at VND 3,481.83 billion, up 0.5% over the previous month and up 17.11% over the same period in 2024. The food and foodstuff group accounts for the highest proportion (47.35%), followed by gasoline (10.13%), construction materials (10.04%), and household appliances (10.03%).

Compared to the same period in 2024, most commodity groups increased by over 15%, of which food and foodstuffs increased by 27.44%, other fuels increased by 15.57%, precious stones and precious metals increased by 16.86%. In contrast, the means of transport group decreased by 14.53% due to reduced demand for new purchases and the impact of inspection and handling of goods of unknown origin.

In the first 9 months of 2025, retail sales of goods reached VND 30,729.93 billion, up 14.34% over the same period. The product groups with strong growth include auto and motorbike repair up 30.58%, gems and precious metals up 23.43%, and food and foodstuffs up 20.8%. In particular, the means of transport group decreased by 7.86% due to the high motorbike ownership rate and reduced replacement demand.

The growth results of trade and services confirm the strong recovery of purchasing power and consumer demand in the province, showing the effectiveness of trade promotion and tourism stimulus programs. However, the industry still needs to focus on diversifying supply sources, improving service quality and developing modern trade infrastructure to maintain sustainable growth momentum in the coming time.
