It has become a tradition that every Christmas, parishes in the province invest effort and money to build giant Bethlehem grottoes from thousands of bamboo trees, bamboo poles and cement bags. This is a symbol of special significance to Catholics, attracting tourists to visit.
After more than 2 months of construction, the Belem grotto in Van Hanh parish, Thach Trung commune, Ha Tinh city has been completed and opened to welcome visitors.
The cave was built on a 3000m2 plot of land, 30m high with 11 miniatures, scenes arranged interwoven, flexible movement, vivid sound and lighting system. In particular, the cave is made from 11,000 bamboo trees, meter trees, thousands of cement bags and other materials.
At An Nhien parish, Thach Ha commune, Ha Tinh city, this year the Belem grotto was built on a grand scale, following garden architecture, with a rustic but equally unique design.
The cave is located along Mai Lao Bang Street, right in front of An Nhien Parish Church. At night, hundreds of LED lights are lit, making the cave sparkling and brilliant, attracting thousands of visitors to come and check in.
Many meaningful shapes attract viewers
Most parishes and churches in Ha Tinh have elaborately built and decorated Bethlehem nativity scenes to welcome Christmas. Each parish has a different way of decorating. But all aim to recreate the scene where Jesus was born. Therefore, the construction of nativity scenes is done by people with voluntary contributions of labor, strength, and material.
The Bethlehem grotto is lit up, the Christmas carols are playing, another Christmas season has come. Thanks to these unique Bethlehem grottos, the holiday atmosphere is more bustling, warm and peaceful.
