As is customary, every Christmas season, parishes throughout the province invest time and money in constructing giant Nativity scenes from thousands of bamboo poles, reeds, and cement bags. These are symbols of special significance to the Catholic community and attract tourists.
After more than two months of construction, the Bethlehem grotto in Van Hanh parish, Thach Trung commune, Ha Tinh city, has been completed and opened to welcome visitors.
The grotto is built on a 3000m2 plot of land, standing 30m high, with 11 interwoven scenes and dynamic movements, and a vibrant sound and lighting system. Notably, the grotto is constructed from 11,000 bamboo and rattan poles, thousands of cement bags, and other materials.
At An Nhien parish, Thach Ha commune, Ha Tinh city, this year the Bethlehem Nativity scene has been built on a grand scale, following a garden-style architecture, with a rustic yet unique design.
The grotto is located along Mai Lao Bang Street, right in front of An Nhien Parish Church. At night, hundreds of LED lights illuminate the grotto, making it dazzling and vibrant, attracting thousands of visitors to come and take photos.
Many of the sculptures have meaningful designs that attract visitors.
Most parishes and sub-parishes in Ha Tinh province meticulously build and decorate Nativity scenes in Bethlehem to welcome Christmas. Each parish has its own unique way of decorating, but all aim to recreate the scene where Jesus was born. Therefore, the construction of these Nativity scenes is a voluntary effort, with people contributing their labor, resources, and materials.
The Bethlehem Nativity scenes are illuminated with twinkling lights, hymns are sung, and another Christmas season has arrived. Thanks to these unique Bethlehem Nativity scenes, the holiday atmosphere is even more vibrant, warm, and peaceful.
