Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of Vung Tau City inspected the actual progress of the construction project to renovate Thuy Van street on the morning of June 3. |
Project completion on August 15
According to a report from Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company (main contractor), in the entire project, package 12 is one of the most important items with a large volume of work. This package includes 2 items: renovating and upgrading the technical infrastructure of Thuy Van road, 3.2km long, and building Thuy Van park on an area of about 19.21ha, with about 88% of the work completed.
However, the remaining 12% of the work is complex technical items such as underground technical stations, iconic artistic canopies, requiring precise construction and high techniques. Coteccons representative said that the unit has mobilized maximum equipment, human resources, overtime at night and on weekends. Quality supervision and labor safety have also been tightened.
During the site inspection, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Tho requested the company to focus on strictly complying with technical, safety and aesthetic standards, and especially the implementation progress. "The entire project must be completed and put into use no later than August 15," the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
Synchronize connection categories
At the same time, the pedestrian tunnel project (5 tunnels) along Thuy Van route aims to enhance connectivity, ensure traffic safety and convenience for residents and tourists. Currently, tunnel No. 2 (Pho Duc Chinh-Thuy Van intersection) invested by Vung Tau City People's Committee is under construction and is expected to be completed on July 22. Tunnel No. 5 (Thi Sach-Thuy Van intersection) invested by DIC Group has also started construction since April 1. Tunnels No. 1, 3, 4 invested by enterprises and the city are expected to start construction in June 2025. These are satellite projects that play an important role in completing the sustainable coastal tourism infrastructure ecosystem.
In addition, the defense land area of more than 2 hectares on Thuy Van route will be handed over to the construction unit before June 15 to implement items of Thuy Van Sea Square.
Along with that, supporting works such as drainage systems on Nguyen An Ninh, Le Hong Phong, and Nguyen Chi Thanh routes are also being deployed synchronously to complete the overall infrastructure.
A highlight of the project is the landmark project at Thuy Van Square, located in the Back Beach area, Vung Tau City. This is the symbolic architectural category of the entire Thuy Van road renovation project, selected through a professional architectural design competition with the participation of many prestigious domestic and international units.
This project was fully funded bySun Group for investment and construction, not only demonstrating the support of large enterprises in developing the province's tourism infrastructure, but also contributing to creating a mark on the coastal urban beauty.
Mr. Doan Hai Linh, Acting Director of the Project Management Board for Investment, Construction and Land Fund Development of Vung Tau City, said that erratic weather and heavy rain are affecting the project's progress. In this situation, the Board has asked the contractor to increase manpower and take full advantage of favorable weather conditions for construction. At the same time, the construction should be flexibly implemented in each area, prioritizing items that are less affected by rain such as service tunnels to speed up progress.
